Parody Song Title:

"A Matter of Rust"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

Dedicated to Kenny, author of the hilarious "Car Full of Holes." Star Trek reference late in the song!
A one! A two! A one, two, three, four!

Some cars are just too damn hard to start!
The coldest days make its engines freeze up, every part!
And you hope it won't stall again
but it will, it's just a question of when!
I've lived long enough to have learned
the more the friction inside the engine, the more it gets burned!
And my insurance went bust
and now my car is just a matter of rust!

A whoa-ho!

Now, I know she's a mechanical girl.
It took some engineers to build her all over the world.
And my finances go POOF!
when the grease monkey comes out with the truth:
It's hard when its pistons are frayed!
I just recover when another hubcap is mislaid!
So break my bank if you must!
It's a matter of rust!

You can't go the distance with engine resistance!
I know you've got grout, but for God's sake, I must go out!

This time, I have just got to cruise!
I can't make it on a bicycle, that's not to choose!
I love you, car from Detroit
and I'll walk away just like A.J. Foyt!
Some cars are just the troublesome kind!
You make-believe it will work, but it's a matter of time!
And spark plugs you try to adjust
but your car is still a matter of rust!

(guitar break)

I'm sure you still mourn yet that Scotty's not born yet.
He could fix your car, when he comes back from that future star.

Some guys, they drive a car full of holes
a constant battle to keep from wrapping it around poles.
After you've heard each knock and ping
there can hardly be a good song to sing!
Some cars are just too damn hard to start!
The coldest days make its engines freeze up, every part!
And I'm still making a fuss
because my car is just a matter of rust!
It's a matter of rust!
Yeah, it's always been a matter of rust!

Rust in peace, it seems.
Hmm... Scotty not born... though he would have fixed it for "the voyage home". :-)

Well, MP, if our unconscious plagarism produced one good thing, it is a visitor to your earlier rendition of the same OS. And a fine job it is too, I'd like to think yours and ours would make good opposite sides of a record. Can't say CD! I particularly like the AJ Foyt line in there! I see we managed to avoid being the same right through, apart from the occasional word (ping, e.g.).

Michael, somehow I cannot picture you wrestling with a spark plug. :)

Looks like you're getting some extra mileage out of this one. 555
