The Lyrics

LOTR: ROTK RULES!!!!
Sam Gamgee
He's been living in the Shire, you see
I bet he's never seen the dragons fly
I bet that Bilbo never told him why

He's quite a guy, oh, that Sam Gamgee
He's been living in his hollow tree
And everything was going just as planned
But when he met up with the gray haired-man
It hit the fan

They speak with Gandalf
The Grey, he's no stran-ger
Ring-Wraiths are coming
The Shire's in dan-ger

And though he's not so tough
But he's brave
That's enough for Sam Gamgee
You know, he's not the guy he thought he'd be
He doesn't like it when they make him bleed
He'd rather sit around and smoke his weed
That's what he needs

Oh
Oh

Sam Gamgee
He seeing sights he never thought he'd see
Like all the splendor up in Rivendell
Or all the darkness of the Mordor hell
It's just as well

'Cause he keeps walking
He's looking so frail
With Gollum stalking
And Orcs on his trail

You see, he's not so tough
But he's brave
That's enough for Sam Gamgee
He is the man he never thought he'd be
But he is stronger than many men
Caught Mr. Frodo as the ring fell in
That's how we win

Sam Gamgee
Mr. Sam Gamgee
He's brave, that's enough
Mr. Sam Gamgee
Mr. Sam Gamgee
He's brave, that's enough
Mr. Sam Gamgee
Mr. Sam Gamgee
He's brave, that's enough
Mr. Sam Gamgee

Sick of LOTR, but never BJ parodies! So, hobbits smoke dope? There's gotta be a parody in there somewhere.

Watch for my new parody tomorrow called "Longbottom Leaf" - it's a parody of a song by The New Riders Of The Purple Sage - original song name is "Panama Red".

Is it about Neville Longbottom...from Harry Potter?? ; )
Johnny D - December 19, 2003 - Report this comment
It's about the pipe-weed called "Longbottom Leaf", which, around TA 2670, was first grown in the Shire in the Southfarthing by Tobold Hornblower.

The original song I'm parodying, "Panama Red", is about another weed ... here is where you can hear a free sample of "Panama Red" :

Syncronos - Looked in with the hope I might somehow know original - it's real vague to me and I know it was out there in public view a long time. 'Twas not be. Like the thought but couldn't vote. Thanks. Johnny D - "New Riders...?" "Panama Red...?" DUDE!! Next you'll be doing, oh hell, what was another of theirs? Oh, I give up....wait...."Cement, Clay and Glass" (how's that for obscure?) Not as good as "P.Red" but it was on the same album I think.. If I don't get in tomorrow I'll make a note to backtrack and look at that new posting next week. Later.

Paul, how about "Lonesome L. A. Cowboy" ? I'm not planning on doing a parody of that one, but that's another one from TNROTPS.

Johnny D - Forgot about "Lonesome L.A. Cowboy" good song. And at least 1 other person on the site knows it (you). Well, that's enough of an audience if I can figure something out. I'm still in a brained locked state. Yesterday I asked a friend to download the Amiright Tribute Rick & Mari did and I must have given him lame instructions on what to do cuz' it's kinda in the "pending" file and I know he really tried to do it. I'm going to find someone with "Soundplayer" already installed or enough disk space to do so sometime today. I'm dying to hear it.

Very good stuff, Syncronos. Ran into it while browsing Billy Joel's many songs and the accompanying parodies.

Revisited this gem. Very good and captures Sam very well. Still an excellent use of LOTR and Billy.
