Original Song Title:

"Call Me"

Original Performer:

Blondie

Parody Song Title:

"Wall-E"

Parody Written by:

Agrimorfee

The Lyrics

(Spoiler alert)
Ride into the future baby
No more trucks and cars
Barely any humans living
Here among the stars
One Earth resident apart
Little robot with a hum

Wall-E (Wall-E!), he's alive
Wall-E would take out the trash at night
Wall-E (Wall-E!), we love
Watch him spinning like a satellite, Wall-E!

Always watches 'Hello Dolly'
Learning human stuff
Rolling through deserted streets
He doesn't have a love
Another comes, he don't know why
She came around to find plant life

Wall-E (Wall-E!), he's alive
Falls for EVE while on a solo flight
Wall-E (Wall-e!), he's in love
Now he sure resembles Johnny 5, Wall-E!

Ooooh, he speaks the languages of ROM
Oooh, once more they "blip blop bleep, bleep blop bleep!"
Ooh, Apple Mac (in theory)--Apple Mac?
Axiom is the place where he will save the day
Who could not love that face when he comes out to play?

Wall-E (Wall-E), all right!
Wall-E, Wall-E on directive prime
Wall-E (Wall-E!), what a ride!
Wall-E- PIXAR workin' overtime

Wall-E, Wall-E! On the line
Wall-E, watch on blu-ray in spare time!
Wall-E, Wall-E, he's got the flower, soft hearts will now cry
Wall-E (Wall-E!), how sublime!
Wall-E, Wall-E beats HAL anytime
Wall-E...Wall-E!...

Wall-E should beat the crap out of HAL - he's only 800 years ahead of HAL. Nice take off on this Blondie OS. See ya in the Artistry comps if I decide to plant one of my recently penned Blondie parodies in amongst the competitors. Must say your pacing is spot on here and fine refs to HAL and Johnny 5 added some glitter.

Hilarious! I loved the movie and you pretty much hit the hammer on the head with this parody... I loved the line "blip blop bleep, bleep blop bleep" (Because it was random just like the original song... Why does she randomly start talking French there?)
alvin - November 13, 2008 - Report this comment
great job on this...disliked the OS but dug both the movie and your parody
Stan Hall - November 13, 2008 - Report this comment
Unlike Alvin, I liked the OS (Blondie and GeeGees were about as good as it got during Disco) but like him, I love your parody. Haven't seen the movie, but now may have to add it to my Netflix queue. :-)

hmmm .... security cose was PX7. Too bad it wasn't PXR

R2D2 would be proud. He is the king of bleeping words. Nice choice of OS for a movie spotlight and spoiler. I see 5's in your future.
Peter Andersson - November 14, 2008 - Report this comment
Guy beat me to comment on the nice touch with blinks to Johnny 5 and HAL but I take it you can stand to hear such praise once more. The whole parody is spaced out 555 light years, I loved it! :-)

This is really good! Funny!

Great show, Agrimorfee!! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I enjoyed your parody. You should have contributed your parody to that movie awhile back! That would have made a big hit on that soundtrack album. Disney Pixar would have thanked you for that! I'll go see the movie soon, though. There is also a chance that I may add a second response to your song because I love it with a passion! That tune really fit the Wall-E's personality. Also after reading technological jargon makes me feel like a computer nerd, but I like it because it also reminds me of the movie TRON. I echo everyone's comments, too. 555.

I loved the original song, and I LOVED the movie even more!!!!! It is rare that I love both the OS and the movie it parodies!

Haven't seen the movie yet, but this is so brilliantly sub'd all the way through, I bet I'll have this tune running round my head when I do :-)

(Artistry) Nothing artificial about the intelligence that wrote this parody. Brilliant work.
bobpiecheese - December 01, 2008 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I haven't seen the film yet, but you got the pacing down to a tee. Well done, Agri.
Matthias - December 02, 2008 - Report this comment
I was going to parody the Edwin McCain song, "I'll Be" about our favorite little robot friend. This was good, I hope you keep these up it was a lot like your "Remy Rat"/ "Bloodhound Gang" parody.
Invisible Boy - December 03, 2008 - Report this comment
Somehow the "Wall-E" thing went right by me at first, although, when I did a little research I realized that I had seen TV ads for this movie and something in my brain couldn't distinguish between CGI fish or CGI penguins or CGI toys.
That's no reflection on you parody...only on my limited brain power.
Your title sub was excellent as was the whole idea. Great job.

(Artistry) I don't see the pacing clips that warranted less than 5 on pacing, honestly this paced so well I didn't stumble at all singing along to it. Something about this OS gets stuck in my head. I've never seen Wall-E but for whatever reason I still got a kick out of the idea. You didn't have to see the movie to get the jist of the parody, which is always cool. Though I haven't seen the movie, my understanding was Wall-E was no small fish in the movies, so I also applaud taking on a topic that many would enjoy.

SOTM(NOV)

I commented in the last Artistry round on this. I still haven't seen the movie but the parody has not lost any ones and zeros. Fine job Agri.

(SOTM) This is one of my favorite Rock Band songs to perform...perfect title sub and I really enjoyed singing along to this. My daughter would understand and get a kick out of it too!

The OS used to be a favorite of mine until it was played to death on the radio. Pacing's good...I really have to see the movie!
Peter Andersson - December 15, 2008 - Report this comment
I was hoping you'd go with this one, it's short but excellent! My favorite so far with just half the field to go.

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to, and I already knew most of what would be considered 'spoiler' in this. Very fun, HAgriD. Good use of blondie.

(SOTM) excellent parody and great idea Ag - esp loved the sub "deserted streets" for "designer sheets" which was so good it almost fooled me into thinking you'd used one of the OS lines! - 555
Ethan Mawyer - December 30, 2008 - Report this comment
This didn't strike me as particularly funny, but it's paced well and the topic alone would have probably given this the most commercial potential of all of the entries if they were all recorded competently at the beginning of December. Part of this could have easily been used in a commercial for the movie (which just came out on DVD) if advertising people were in touch with you and other writers here. It's too bad that they're not.
Below Average Dave - December 31, 2008 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Ditto my original statement, ditto Ethan's opinion on the commercial potential

Wall-E is my favorite Pixar movie ever made, and your parody truly did it justice. 555 years into the future, this parody will still be around, helping to clean the world of terrible movie-based parodies.

Fantastic movie... Still working for the mouse (Cameras are everywhere! Need to say nice things about everything they do. Just kidding, but Wall-E's a quality movie) and this was a quality parody.

I may be the only person on any planet or moon who hasn't yet seen "WALL_E," but that doesn't keep me from recognizing a grand parody when I read one. 5s for this (even if I am in HAL's camp). :-)
