SHED YOUR LOAD (Eulogy for Bob Brozman)
Down the road, master, down the road
To our distress you've gone down the road
Your family saddened, loss do we feel
Music is eternal and we're bound to heal
Shed your load, master, shed your load
Guitar finesse and fun was your code
Our vistas you widened, National Steel
Resonator harnessed and it sounds unreal
Clapton played the blues and you know they went wild
With excitement, Page and Beck not mild
Stevie Ray Vaughan made our senses reel
Sounds infernally loud found appeal
B B King with his great attack
And Buddy Guy could play behind his back
Jimi Hendrix immediately
Earth-shakin' guitar royal aristocracy
Al Dimeola bite your fingernail
Eddie Van Halen stop and watch these hands flail
Musical walking talking carnival
Acoustically subliminal
On the road, always on the road
Rapt crowds address and move down the road
Our burdens lightened, how good we feel
Music is eternal and the sounds do heal
(scat interlude 1)
It was his choice to roam near and far
Sun, you did so glisten on his guitar
Articulate and realize
In that royal joy, music in every guise
No where in any far territory
Can one compete with his steel-string glory
Sliding strumming luminosity
Picking, drumming, humming virtuosity
(scat interlude 2)
When I got the news I took it to heart
Bob Brozman suddenly did depart
His vision was true, his heart as good as gold
But us children, we all have to leave this world
Down the road, you've gone down the road
Free of all stress, you've done shed your load
Your soul is now pardoned because we feel
Your gift is eternal and how your sounds can
Us who are earthbound can
Bobby you are bound to heal
