Parody Song Title:

"Expensive Fries"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Anyone notice it costs 10 times as much to buy something at a sporting event?
It's all so lame, only the grease has changed
Every game, it seems it costs more to pay
Another stand, where the hot dogs are so cold
I search all night, for where warm ones are sold

At the ballgame, I spend six ninety five
I wanted, expensive fries
Wanted, expensive fries

I wait in line, sometimes it seems for days
The people in front, can't decide just what they crave
Sometimes I tell the clerk
I just want to get a Coke
I waited in that line, just to find the tap is broke

At the ballgame, I spend six ninety five
I wanted, expensive fries
Wanted, expensive fries

Hot fries!

Oooh, At the ballgame, I spend six ninety five
I wanted, expensive fries

I walk these ramps
A loaded six-pack on my back
Won't buy game beer, or I can't afford a snack
I've missed half the game, still I'm standing tall
Had to wait for half-an hour, just to use the stall!

At the ballgame, I spend six ninety five
I wanted, expensive fries
At the ballgame, I spend six ninety five
I wanted, expensive fries
Wanted, expensive fries

(ABC3E) Recently went to a football (soccer) game here in London, and for a dinky burger, wilted chips (fries), and a small coke, I paid £7.25...which is about 13 american bucks! So you can stop complaining now...;-) 555

song title cop, wow, it only took you three years to pick that up. I think you need a new hobby. Slacker.

(DEC4) See above...it gets a bit much when the concessions stands run a credit check on you before serving. ;-)

(decath4) see above - a little more explainable than some of the unexplainable phenomena I've been reading about this morning - a good argument for a competitive marketplace (ie. an unballgame-ish one)
Arwen - October 09, 2006 - Report this comment
Decathlon...I am with you on this one, Jeff. And I shake my head in dismay when I think about it after the fact...but you KNOW I never even blink when actually in the line and they say "18.75" for my pretzel and diet coke...sad sad sad. =) Nice work!
Matthias - August 23, 2008 - Report this comment
The Movie Theaters aren't much better since only for a quarter more you can get a large for about 12 bucks.... And if you want a drink that's about 18 bucks, plus if you're on a date that brings it up to about 30 bucks for popcorn and a couple Cokes. (Not to mention the ticket for a movie that is actually a waste of time to go see). I don't know go to baseball games that often, but I do go to the movies and boy and I relate. I liked the line about the six-pack on your back, because that reminds me of stuffing soda down your slacks in order to save some money at the movies. I liked this one, and can relate although I'm not a sports fan.

(Artistry) Finally, someone has captured what it's really like to attend an American sporting event. I shudder to think what the concessions will cost at the Dallas Cowboys new billion dollar stadium.
Wolverine - September 03, 2008 - Report this comment
(Artistry) This is why when I go to Husker games, I tailgate. Eat what you want right off the grill. The only thing I gotta get at the stadium is the $3 bottles of water (that cost them maybe $0.50). Good job sir!
