The Lyrics

Here it is again! Blow me down!
Ya scurby knave
Whyd you tell me to shave?
See the planks That we pass by all day
My matey's face, octopus like Davy Jones
While I was sleepin last night, you drank all my rum

Cause Ill tell ya
Drink all my rum one more time
Or you're walkin the plank tonight
Yer walkin the plank tonight

Ahoy matey! My rum must last all day
And the wenches I seek, give me cooked fish on a plate
I got all my gold today
In a treasure chest,wont sink
When you think Im done with rum, you pour it down a sink

Im a pirate
On a wooden ship I sail
But youre walkin the plank tonight
Yer walkin (walkin ) the plank tonight

Im a pirate
On a wooden ship I sail
But youre walkin the plank tonight
Yer walkin (walkin ) the plank tonight

I swim these seas, green feathered parrot on my arm
Its not a sparrow, and Im no Captain Jack
You hid the treasure ,WHERE?!?!, I just have to go say "ARRRRRRRR"
See all of those filthy planks? YEAH YOULL WALK THEM ALL!!!!

Well that's it, BOY! You should know the treasure's MINE
NOW YOU'RE WALKIN (WALKIIIIN) THE PLANK TONIGHT!
Goin down boy, Davy Jones by your side
Go walk yon plank tonight
Walkin the plank tonight
Yeah youll walk,the plank tonight
Wont survive, the plank tonight
The plank tonight
Yon plank tonight
That plank tonight
PLANK'S TO THE RIGHT
2006 Captain Jack "Not Sparrow" Wilson

It's pretty good, Jack, but... I don't mean to be overly pernickity, but this is where syllable count/phrase expression comes in: for example, the chorus sub "I'm wanted, dead or alive" -> "Yer walking the plank tonight" means you end up stressing the word "the"; you've missed the occasional rhyme (e.g. in the third line JBJ sings "every day/it seems we're wasting away" which sings like an internal rhyme so that to me it sounded wrong not having it). There's some nice ideas in this one, but it does lose it a bit when you sing along.

SOTM - I'm having a hard time getting used to the syllable emphasis differences ... some are a bit clunky. The idea is interesting though.
