The Lyrics

ferngully the anarchistic years
oh, thinking about all those other worlds,
it has just occurred to me,
that it's so nice to be free !
now nobody can take this away, my tree!
they've tried to build roads before,
no fly-over now !
now were gonna close the door !

maybe we're all non-cha-lant,
but we're buying up all the arms
and hiding in all of these trees,
here in devon.
we build it all at full speed,
and i've found a good place to start,
i'm hiding up in my tree,
with my weapon.

oh don't let the elves build you a bomb!
they just burn holes in the ground,
blow you up when your underground !
yeah, training is done by the mean fairy,
on the assult course everyday
they just told me now,
"boss, the dwarves on point today!"

maybe the dragons will taunt.
while there frying up all those farms!
i'm feeling a little aggrieved
i've only seven!
and the orcs are all on speed,
and i've found that they always fart !
i'm makin sure that i see,
beans aren't given

we've been waiting for so long,
for builders to arrive,
seems we got the day all wrong.
now the streams are filled with glue,
through the land mines, goes my dad,
yeah, he goes wandrin right on through !

maybe we're all non-cha-lant,
but we're buying up all the arms
and hiding in all of these trees,
here in devon.
and the orcs are all on speed,
and i've found that they always fart !
i'm makin sure that i see,
beans aren't given

(AGES) I thought this was going to be only about Ferngully (a movie i rememer very little of), but the mix of different creatures from other tales made this quite memorable. Some very clever line subs throughout (the orcs are all on speed, LOL).

I'm not familiar with the tale, but I liked the idea. Self-government at its best.---MM

(Ages) Tomario, where have you been hiding???? This is the BEST parody I've EVER read by you--IT WILL BE IN MY TOP 5. . .you weren't perfect on pacing, but darn close, and it was just funny--and it all tied together well--a superb effort by you.

Sadly, I've never actually sat down to watch Fergully before even though I am a film student. You think I would have, but the previews never turned me on to seeing it especially that annoying bat creature something about him bugs me. This is along the same lines as "Never Ending Story" as two kids movies that I refuse to watch because they creep me out.

(ABC C & D) Fond memories of watching "Fern Gully" as a kid were invoked by this excellent parody, and 5s are invoked as well.

(ABC C/D) Off topic, but the only Devon I could ever think about is Nickelodeon actor Devon Werkheiser of Ned's Declassified! Of course I know that's not about him. Well anyways, Ferngully is one of my fave movies. Brings back lots of memories! Very mystical satire! Take some enchanting 5's!

Haven't watched all of Ferngully, but this was some epic writing to an epic ballad. 555

(ABC-CD) Since it's been so long since I read this, I got to be completely confused all over again! Um...yay?

See above Tomario, I still find this one very funny in a random way. . .and perhaps part of that is I think this original song is one of the best sappy songs ever recorded, I don't normally go for sappy songs, but when you get that raspy rock sound to it, it actually sounds good. . .this original is a classic, and your parody is to.

ABC: Never heard the original song before, so this song didn't really connect with me, but good job!
