The Lyrics

This was written a few days before The Passion came out. The references to "Writing about Film" and "69th Street" refer to my film class and local movie theater.
One Day More!
(to the tune of "One Day More" from Les Mis)
(sung on February 24th, 2004)

THE MOVIE CRITIC
One day more!
Another day, another movie show.
This may rule, or this may blow;
Mel Gibson seems to know the way
We'll flock to violence any day.
One day more!

A 17-YEAR OLD IN WRITING ABOUT FILM CLASS
They won't let you in TP?
How can we see if we are parted?

MOVIE CRITIC
One day more.

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
Tomorrow you'll (I'll) be turned away
And yet with you, my paper's started!

USHER
One more day all on my own.

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
Can you get a ticket cheap?

USHER
One more day with me not caring.

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
Should we go see something else?

USHER
All day seeing movies.

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
Like Welcome to Mooseport?

USHER
That I care less about!

ABRAHAM FOXMAN
One more day before this flick!

THE 17-YEAR-OLD
Do I go to see TPOC?

ABRAHAM FOXMAN
Those changes are not made yet.

THE 17-YEAR-OLD
Shall I join my girlfriend here?

ABRAHAM FOXMAN
When I go on CNN

THE 17-YEAR-OLD
Do I stay; and do I dare?

ABRAHAM FOXMAN
Will you please not yell at me?

ALL
The time is now, the movie's here!

MOVIE CRITIC
One day more!

SARA
One more day 'til I see Passion,
I can't wait to get inside!
They all say that it's real violent,
So I will see if they're right!

MOVIE CRITIC
One day more!

THE TICKET-TAKERS AT 69TH STREET THEATRE
Watch 'em run amuck,
Lay their money down,
If you don't like violence
Then y'all will frown,
Here a silver coin
There a dollar bill
These people like blood and gore
They'll have their fill!

STUDENTS (2 Groups)
1: One day left until The Passion

2: We need a stub to pass!

1: Let's go get some popcorn!
2: Let's go get some popcorn!

1: There's a new flick for the willing

2: If you can stomach it!

ALL
Do you hear the people sing?

THE 17-YEAR-OLD
I'll wait... til DVD!

MOVIE CRITIC
One day more!

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
Let's go see Mooseport today.

USHER
One more day all on my own!

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
For we can't watch if we are parted...

SARA (overlapping)
I will join my friends from AP
I will follow where they go
So we're off to Granite Run Mall,
To see the Passion show!

MOVIE CRITIC
One day more!

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
We'll salvage a report on Moose...
USHER
Is this flick even any good?

THE 17-YEAR-OLD & THE 16-YEAR-OLD
And hopefully Morretta won't grade harsh

SARA (overlapping)
One more day til I see Passion
I can't wait to get inside
I'll be ready for this

Movie

TICKET-TAKERS (overlapping)
Watch 'em run amok
Lay their money down
If you don't like violence
Then y'all will frown
MOVIE CRITIC
Is it good or really gay?
Tomorrow is the judgment day

ALL
Tomorrow we'll discover
What that Mel Gibson has in store!
One more dawn
One more day
One day more!

Very good parody. I thought that Mel Gibson did a wonderful job with "The Passion," but I didn't think that the movie quite lived up to the hype, which is appropriately spoofed in this parody. The usher's lines were very good.
