The Lyrics

Stood still on a pie plate
I saw a human
By the side of the stove
With a trace I knew as pheromones
Detected in the wind flow
Well he walked up to the water pipes
And he bent down real low
His fearful presence sent me hieing for the cat bowl
He said, "Scum, what are you chewing there?
My fear of you has spurred me into rage"
I thought, "Mammal, I come from the alley to your kitch'
Myself to dwell"
He said, "Scum, witness the roach motel"

"On your journey 'cross my filthy mess
By the pleasures that you smell
You'll be swayed into the Super 8 from hell"

Well I'm standing by a sliver
Of the liver 'neath some scones
It's spoiled by every microbe you can think of
And my hunger needs a meat bite
A delight of joy I drone
Fare beyond belief lay down by the rat hole
But the perverted lure of wild lust
Stokes the fiery urge to mate
With consequences springing out of hell
This ain't no ent'mological shakedown
Oh no, this is the roach motel

But all the rooms jam up with crickets
And they're stuck in there like glue
They crawled to get some favors, trying to mate some, too
Our lookouts shout, "Thank our good luck
What's gone down here?
We must learn this lesson fast and spurn the smell
This ain't no utterly low-style fleabag
Oh no, this is the roach
Said this is the roach
This is the roach motel"

You could be refering to a roach trap or a sleazy motel. Good companion to "Roaches".

Road to Hell (current economy) is about the same as Roach motel nowadays. Good subject for this OS

What 2Eagle and Timmy1K said. Also, I have bought, used and discarded my fair share of Roach Motels, and have stayed in plenty of sleazy motels. 5s.

Alvin (IMHO) - may be one of the best songs never known - by Chris Rea. Line include "I come to the valley of the rich, myself to sell" and "All the roads jam up with credit and there's nothing you can do; it's all just bits of paper, flying away from you". Given today's economic circustances, this was way ahead of its ttime.
