The Lyrics

Recently, after much hesitation, I got into playing Civilization VI. One of its expansions is called Gathering Storm, in which natural disasters are factored in to the progress of your empire. In turn, one of the expansion's leaders, Eleanor of Aquitaine (yes, she was real), can lead either England or France (I prefer to play her as French leader given my heritage). Now, each Civ leader has a unique ability, and Eleanor's ability is called the Court of Love. With it, she (or any player playing her) can undermine nearby foreign cities' loyalty to their current empires and join Eleanor, no strings attached. This sneaky feature inspired this parody, my 123rd on the site but, somehow, first of CSNY or any part thereof; the OS comes from the much-maligned American Dream album of 1988.
I'm not one to antagonize
Here within the court of love,
But you're s'posed to cut 'em down to size,
So do it with the court of love.
As Eleanor of Aquitaine,
I can use the court of love.
I'll take their cities, no complaints--
Siegecraft of the court of...

Gonna win it with the court of love,
Surely in it with the court of love.

None cares about your loyalty
Wiped out by the court of love
When my Great Works are next to thee,
Luring to the court of love.
Don't need to let the bullets fly
In conquest with the court of love;
Can't get them back, though Skynyrd tried,
Playing 'gainst the court of...

Try a-messin' with the court of love,
Second-guessin' 'gainst the court of love.

Underestimate the court of love,
But you can't debate the court of love;
All you'll do is sate the court of love.

Stealin' cities the planet o'er,
Stealin' for the court of love.
It all contributes to my score,
Winnin' for the court of love.
I don't need much of an army,
When I've got the court of love,
For domination victory,
Triumph with the court of...

Domination with the court of love,
Foes' frustration with the court of love,
My elation with the court of love.
