"Zookeeping Is Rather Beastly"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Feeding time
The alarm does chime
But it's not my deal
Gnus and rats and wallabyes
Lions, bears and seals

Zookeeping is kind of beastly
Zookeeping is a daily trial
Zookeeping is kind of beastly
Zookeeping is a daily trial

Tubs of fishes nauseate me
Dolphins give a greedy eye
And the monkeys are now learning
How to throw fruit very far
Cruddy camels spit right on me
And hyenas laugh: "Har Har Har!"

Zookeeping is kind of beastly
Zookeeping is a daily trial
If you think that this is easy
Let's see you clean up their piles!

Big cats chow on slabs of sirloin
What a waste, I shed my tears
Come tomorrow, I will purloin
Some for home and roast those steers!
I'm just talking, but believe me
It's the truth, I gotta go
These beasts are beasts for just no reason
Even lovebirds hate me so

Plus I got bad allergies
I'm sneezing away
This type of job, it's not for me
I'm quitting today!

Zookeeping is kind of beastly
Time to give another job a try
Maybe work at J.C. Penney?
Maybe retail work won't make me cry?

Zookeeping is kind of beastly
Zookeeping is a daily trial
Zookeeping is kind of beastly
Zookeeping is a daily trial

Getting a head start on the Karaoke Revolution project I see.... (This song is in the Party mix if you just parodied this song by happenstance). I loved the idea, and I love the original song. This was a very fun, and funny parody. And you spelled everything right in the submittion thread! Yay!

Matthias: "submittion". :P. All seriousness aside, thanks. (you didn't notice the letter it started with? ;))

Great song. Reminds me of that show My Gym Partner's A Monkey and how Adam Lyon finds the animal school he goes to every weekday to be very wild.

Ag - What a fun write to read. Extreme focus on the execution. Fresh and vibrant.

Please indulge me and read a story about a gorilla at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. I was stationed almost at the mid point between Baltimore, Md and Wash. D.C. from 1978 to 1984. During that time whenever I had out of town visitors some family some not, there was always plenty of places to take them. Gettysburg was about an hour drive north. Been there so many times I feel like I actually fought there. Anyway the National Zoo in DC was always a crowd pleaser. There was one gorilla there that used to throw up in his hand. He would then show it to the people looking at him. I guess he liked seeing the disgusting looks on their faces. Then for the coup de gras he would eat it in front of them. The reaction from the human observers sent a charge though this beast and he actually appeared to be laughing. This is my story and I'm sticking to it. It is all true - I could not make this up.

This song is fantastic and utterly wild. I love it. Zookeeping is NOT a job i would want either.

"Even lovebirds hate me so" was my favorite line. Good idea and execution.

(ABC) Better lovebirds than lovebugs ;) Here in Florida we have far more of the latter than the former. This one gelled well for me, I wasn't expecting much as I generally don't on songs that I felt were written specifically for ABC, but you didn't do this as a lazy write, and though I know "Do You Really Want to Burn Me" is not among the most loved songs on the site, I personally have always respect it. . .

Nice idea for the "Z" round. No, I don't believe in zoos...but that's anothur discussion. Nice use of the word "purlion".

I remember reading this one for the Z round. This was great. I loved the puns in his with the "lovebirds even hate me". The whole thing was outstanding.

(Artistry) I'm not a big fan of zoos myself, mainly because it's so boring. If I wanted to spend two hours watching animals behind bars, I'd buy an abacus and stare at my brother through it. Anyway, great parody, TMGLTM, 555 etc. etc.

(Artistry) If you think dealing with animals is bad, take that job at JC Penney and see what it's like dealing with people :-). Fun idea, clever write.
