The Lyrics

Funnily, when I was about to start writing a new parody with the intention of putting it in the November SOTM, I was planning to do 'Be My Guest', but I started doing 'Under The Sea' for no good reason. Oh, well.
The classroom seems awf'lly gloomy
When Sir hands out a pop quiz
I'm not looking forward to it
Let's face it, I'm not a whiz
The subject is Demographics
I think that Sir is on crack
But I'm not feeling too happy
When Sir hands the pop quiz back

Under a 'C'
Under a 'C'
That's what my mark is
Of that crap pop quiz
But it's just me
Nathan has only just scraped past
Once again, me he has surpassed
This test I have failed
I'm, like a sperm whale
Under a 'C'

My dad cut off my allowance
When I got out of twelve: seven
I don't think I'll get it back 'till
Two thousand and eleven
Or much later on more likely
If I keep on scoring low
When do I get my own sitcom
Called "The Total Dumbarse Show"?

Under a 'D'
Under a 'D'
My mark gets lower
And brain gets slower
When in Grade Three
Although I am fifteen years old
I'm just that dumb, that's what I'm told
My eyes are wetting
'Cause I keep getting
Under a 'D'
Under a 'D'
I'll have a bet made
That I'm in third grade
Permanently
My spelling needs a quick breather
My grammar ain't no good neither
That made sod all sense
Because I'm so dense
I'll get a 'D'

Two plus two is five
Four and six are ten
In summer, it's cold
I've failed it again
Autumn is in March
I thought it was right
Oh wait, I moved from Aussie
(Oi!)
Turtles have no shell
A dog goes 'Meow'
No more excuses
Miss Roy will allow
I've now been held back
Again, that's a fact
Nine times, I do believe

Under an 'E'
Under an 'E'
My mark's so bad
It drives me so mad
To insanity
Yes, my right answers are 'bout squat
It just about made me lose the plot
My lack of thought train
Made me near insane
'Cause I got 'E''s
Don't know my tables
Makes me unstable
'Cause of my 'E''s
It makes you wonder
If I'm a blunder
How could I write this
Reggae-style self-diss?
Well, I just don't know
What else is new, though?
Thanks to my 'E''s
Notice the similarities between this and my last one? And how I couldn't be bothered adding in a Jamaican accent?

I'm with Yoidy on this one!

Excellent, conqueror. Once I did try to do a parody to this OS called "Lower Than D" to a similar topic but never got past the first verse. You went one better than me on this! (and if you're wondering, schoolwork and such has left me with a horrible case of writer's block. I've got to break it sooner or later.)
Cat - November 23, 2006 - Report this comment
But I just noticed something...four and six ARE ten. Perhaps you're not so dumb after all? ;)
Agrimorfee - December 11, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Very original to change the chorus each time and to incorporate it into a storyline!
Matthias - December 13, 2006 - Report this comment
Conquerer, listen to me, grades under a "C" is better than anything they do down here (in West Virginia, dern rednecks)

(SOTM) Funny stuff, pieman; I liked the "The Total Dumbarse Show" and "How could I write this/Reggae-style self-diss?" lines best. I docked you on pacing for a few syllables that were awkwardly stressed and the missed rhymes in the "The newt play the flute..." part. 93% ain't bad though... Under an E is funny line, too: here the scale is ABCDF; no Es, at least not when I was in school.

What's a SOTM detention? Requests to enter the next month too? :-)
Phil Alexander - December 26, 2006 - Report this comment
It's OK, CoP, but to be blunt doesn't quite make an "A"...
Kristof Robertson - December 27, 2006 - Report this comment
Let's have a look at your homework, Master Piecheese....hmmmmm...although not technically perfect, the fun and humour lift this parody to an A-...well done, young sir. 555
The Charnstar - December 27, 2006 - Report this comment
SOTM - At least you could never get an F... it doesn't rhyme. But rhyme or not, I'm givin' you an A
tomario - December 28, 2006 - Report this comment
"breakfast club" or "The Total Dumbarse Show" whatever you still get top marks 555
Jack Wilson - December 28, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) The total Dumbarse SAow? Isnt that Paris hilton's new show, 555
Stuart McArthur - December 29, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) the "sperm whale" and "2011" lines were crackers, bobpie - you really are on the up and up - the idea was great and the execution great - keep em coming - 555

Sounds like you have a future in government.---MM

SOTM - Kinda fizzles out at the end, but it has its moments - and some pretty good lines.

Can't think of a lame joke. I'll just give you 5s and a " good job ", okay? ;-)
Glen S - December 30, 2006 - Report this comment
I liked how you eased your way into the phrase "Under an 'E'". But I'm sorry, you're going to continue to get under an 'E' unless you focus on details like the Jamaican accent. Then again, you did acknowledge the lack of one. Maybe the teachers aren't smart enough to understand.
Tim Mayfield - December 31, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Very well done, unlike the pop quiz I guess.

And Cat... When the line before used 'plus', the line following used 'and', so the intent is: two plus two is five while four times six are ten... (I think).

Thank you everyone for the comments.

Cat: I made a mistake, all right?

Agri: Precisely.

Matthias: Indeedy.

Red Ant: Woops. I missed something.

Peter: I don't get it.

Phil: I guess I should've expected comments like these...thanx anyway.

Kristof: You remind me of my English teacher. And, frankly, that scares me.

Charnstar: LOL!

tomario: Don't get the breakfest club gag, but I'm Mister I-Live-Under-A-Rock

Jack: Thanx, but I don't really tolerate celebrity cracks...I never get them.

Stu: Well, that comment made my day. Seriously.

Michael: American government, maybe.

WBMJ: Just be thankful I'm not aping your style like last month.

Johnny D: Or maybe THAT comment made my day.

Glen: They sure aren't.

Tim: Like I said, I made a boo-boo. Although you could take it too mean, that with that section of 3 questions, I got 1/3 which would mean I 'failed it again'. But then I'm just finding excuses.

Well, I think that's everybody. My first 'reply to everybody's comments after a SOTM', and it went swimmingly. I think...

(Artistry) Ah, school memories. I hated homework, and I was lucky to score at least a D in most of my subjects. Thank god you don't need a good education to write parodies! Good job.

Hey, Poomaster, is that all you ever think about? This parody doesn't have a damn thing to do with bodliy waste, so you can just quit poking your nose where it doesn't belong.

(Artistry) Honest to Lord Conq, this was very cute. . .I think that you are a better writer now than you were here, but it was cute. I'm assuming that your "E" is equivilant to our "F" in America. So I treat it as that. Good luck in college.
