The Lyrics

Something I noticed when using this OS is that everyone sees this as the end of something. I think what I've been seeing lately is the start of something else that is as bad as losing innocence. Enjoy.
(Verse 1)
Remember when the world made sense
And laws remained after sorrow
Didn’t mind struggling with the debt
With jobs helping me past tomorrow
But social media land got bad
As we’ve purged our cable with every ad
Reading headlines just makes us mad
We don’t need more info

(Chorus)
But, there’s not a place that you can go
Digital footprints
See outside the people march
The taggers spray on your streets
You can put your head under the sand
And lose your rights from all around you
Affix the boards to your store
This is the start
This is the start of the culture war

(Verse 2)
How hideous, the scarves they wear
The colours don’t match your ancestry
They’re keeping secrets on down low
For this stuttering man and his presidency
Sending weapons supports Riyadh
As we’ve purged our cable with every ad
We slowly call ourselves comrade
While lockdowns still persist

(Chorus)
But, there’s not a place that you can go
To gather your receipts
We’ll see outside the people march
The taggers spray on your streets
Just put your head under the sand
And lose your rights from all around you
Affix the boards to your store
This is the start
This is the start of the culture war

(Instrumental Bridge)

(Verse 3)
What is left for us to think
Now our land is on, the brink
But, sometime posting in the past
Makes you become the next outcast
You read all of those death threats
And lose all jobs with those regrets
There is no image you can like
From products we can’t buy

Just put your head under the sand
And lose your rights from all around you
Affix the boards to your store
This is the start
This is the start of the culture war

(Outro)
Oh nah nah
Naaah
It was either post this or make a tribute song to Walter Gretzky. I'm done with important dead people for now. I've got to start using a Keane song for the next submission. This is more than a "Strangeland".

I should have changed "scarves" with "clothes".

Really good, Arch. The OS has the perfect tone of melancholy for this subject

I don't recall anyone using this song before. It's one of my favorites. Said to be a parable about the Reagan years. "Stuttering President". "Affixing boards". The Chauvin trial starts tomorrow with quite predictable results. Remember when the Wall, the Iron Curtain fell? When we looked to the stars? Now we fight over pronouns and can't even agree on basic biology. Losing freedoms is the goal. Was January 6 a last gasp or a preview of the future. You've written a good one here.

Thanks Pat and CML. I'm trying to find the right song to deal with that Oprah Royals Interview. Since Meghan and Harry are celebrities, I have to go back to the Tea Party.
