The Lyrics

well, here it is! The REAL final track of my "Essential Earl Thomas Comedy Parodies" project. or, a bonus track! depending on how you'd rather look at it, I guess. either way, it would've rightfully been track 10, had I ever learned to count... I figured what better day to submit the final entry in this tribute to Earl, than what would've been his 78th birthday? Happy 78th, Earl! it's a shame I never had the chance to see one of your shows, in person. but hopefully, you know what big fans my family & I are, now! have a blast of a birthday, in Heaven!
this parody was inspired by a previous one I had written, with my older brother. (shameless plug can be seen here: http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/radneyfoster0.shtml) < much like that one, this one deals with a frustrated board-gamer and his need to win!

hey, how'd you win? gotta play you again
sheesh! you beat me, each time
now I'm just mad, makes me feel bad
like I'll win when pigs fly...

it's always the same, "let's play a game!"
then, you mop the floor with me
I play and I lose, don't miss a beat
I wouldst love to best thee

But I Can't Win, Which Makes Me Blue. I Just Can't Score Over You
Looks Like I Lose "Monopoly" And Even "Don't Wake Daddy"
And I Ain't Winning "Uno," Nor At "The Game Of Life"
Like To Win A Round Or Two, But I Can't Win, Which Makes Me Blue

so, come down, today! there's so much to play
Lord knows that I've got the time
you're at work? tough $#!^! at my job, I quit
victory will be mine

But I Can't Win, Which Makes Me Blue. I Just Can't Score Over You
Looks Like I Lose "Monopoly" And Even "Don't Wake Daddy"
And I Ain't Winning "Uno," Nor At "The Game Of Life"
Like To Win A Round Or Two, But I Can't Win, Which Makes Me Blue

No, I Can't Win, Which Makes Me Blue. I Just Can't Score Over You
Looks Like I Lose "Monopoly..." (fade out)
Thanks For Reading! and I hope you've all enjoyed "The Essential Earl Thomas Comedy" parodies! admittedly, this project took longer to complete than I would've liked, but that was primarily due to my dad's health issues last summer, which put my writing on hold. (so grateful that he's doing better, now!) combined with the death of Rob Arndt, not long after my dad's problems began. which, quite honestly, still leaves a bit of a void, here at amiright. either way, I'm thankful to all of you who've enjoyed this project and I may have other full-album projects lined up, in the future! for now, as always, I'm open to requests! Thanks Again!
Dedicated to the memory of the late, great, Earl Thomas Conley: 1941-2019. Rest in Peace and once more, Happy 78th!
