Song Parodies -> "The Epic Mount of Doom"

Original Song Title:

"Electric Avenue"

Original Performer:

Eddie Grant

Parody Song Title:

"The Epic Mount of Doom"

Parody Written by:

McKludge

The Lyrics

Yesterday's Electric Avenue submission made me go back to my vault and finish up this one. Please grant me some artistic license and pronounce Dûm as "doom" and sing it like a rasta-hobbit.
Ploy!
Ploy!

In Rivendell dey are gath’ring
A buncha Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits, an' Men
Wonder what to do wit’ One Ring
Silently ponderin' “who?” and den
Frodo

Say I take ring down to da Epic Mount o’ Doom
But I don’ know da way dere
Oh I take da ring down to da Epic Mount o’ Doom
But I don’ know da way dere

Skip ahead so not to bore ya
Dey find beast o’ Shadow an' Flame
Awakened in depths o’ Moria
Da Balrog, Durin’s Bane
Gandalf

He say “Not pass can you!” da Bridge at Khazad-Dûm
Den “fly you fools!” he cry-ed
No! He say “Not pass can you!” da Bridge at Khazad-Dûm
Den “fly you fools!” he cry-ed

Frodo!
He go!
He know!
Such woe!
Frodo!
He take da ring down to da Epic Mount o’ Doom
And tro’ it in da fire
Oh! He take da ring down to da Epic Mount o’ Doom
And tro’ it in da fire

Dey finally make it to Mordor
Climb up da rocky incline
“Oh Master, please” Sam did implore
But he turn to Sam “Ring is mine!”
Oh No!
I’ll not tro’ it into da Epic Mount o’ Doom
Da Precious I desire
Frodo will not tro’ it into da Epic Mount o’ Doom
Da Precious he desire

And den deceit
From slappin’ feet
Bite off da finger
Of da Ringbearer’s hand

Oh! Den Gollum fell into da Epic Mount o’ Doom
Heeeee burn up in da fire
Hey! Den Gollum fell into da Epic Mount o’ Doom
Oh Yeah! (Den burn up in da fire)
Lava on da left side (Da One Ring fell into da Epic Mount o’ Doom)
Lava on da right (An' melted in da fire)
Lava up in da skies oh Samwise (Da One Ring fell into da Epic Mount o’ Doom)
Here come da Eagles! (An' melted in da fire)
I'm hitting writers block on my Simpsons parodies, hopefully this one will wake me up.

Not that I've seen a whole lot of Electric Avenue parodies--but yours HAS to be the best I've seen to date. . ."And den deceit" was one of many lines that showed you staying with the style of the original song., "Dey find beast o’ Shadow an' Flame" was another great one.

Dylan - If I can't win SOTM, and least I can get a POTD :-)
BAD - I might have to record this one if I can sing with a Jamaican accent.
Arwen - When the Elf laughs, it must be funny :-)
Ann, Agri, Jack, Steve, Spooky - Thanks.
And to the guy who gave me a 4 on pacing - Where did I miss? I don't see/hear it, but I could be blind/deaf.

MckLudge--I'm the 4-Pacing Guy, but it was my mistake, I'd take it back if I could. :(

You bastard! You ruined my perfect score!(just kidding)
Null sweat. I was just wondering if I missed something.

Geez, I'm batting zero on movies this month. Even though I'm apparently the only person on the planet who hasn't seen LoTR, I can see the excellent work on the accents and pacing here.
Agrimorfee - October 11, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Still right about the whole thing, I'm still wrong about the pace. :)

Lord of the Parodies, Good re-telling of the book and movie.

SOTM - You're making good use of TOS here, and there's something very alluring about the idea of rasta hobbits. Hmm... come to think about it maybe that stuff Gandalf and Bilbo was smoking in the first movie was actually ganja! :-)

(SOTM) Must...gives the preciouses to McKludges - no! Nasty McKludges tricks us, he hates us, keep the preciouses - he must have them, he deserves them - no! Tricksy McKludges must not have the preciouses - shuts the hell up, Gollum, the precious fives are going to McKludges whether you likes it or not! - bastard...

Thought I'd commented on this already - I love a good LOTR parody, and this is one... 'specially the mental image of a Rasta hobbit :-)
Jason - October 29, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I pretty much agree with Peter's comment!
stuart mcarthur - October 30, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) even knowing nothing about LOTR, McKludge (nothing!) didn't stop this from being a funny read - I know enough about it to assume that it can be a bit pretentious, so I imagine this would have deflated it beautifully with the accent and all - 555

(SOTM) I have watched all three Lord of the Rings religiously, and you painted a great pictures of the whole story. It wasn't LOL funny, but the accent added to it made the whole story seem Jamaican, which put a picture in my head of Frodo with dreadlocks--no that's funny. . .Awesome parody on a deceitfully difficult song to parody.
Mikey Squirrel - October 31, 2007 - Report this comment
SOTM- Good job on a difficult song. And very funny picturing the rasta hobbits singing this. Good work, McKludge.
