The Lyrics

Another WW2 theme...
What the Allies want, the Luftwaffe’s got, and it’s not so hard to handle
Twin turbojet engines held in nacelles
The Jumos feed the flames

Got my hands full on the throttles
As the temperature gauges rise
Watching them both together
Still, I’m roaring through the skies

A dream come true, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262
Mach 0.82, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262

In combat, when Allied
escorts become a nightmare,
When they're firin’ at me with .50 calibers
I can laugh them in the face
Open the throttles wide and run my way out
Still firing my MK-108s all about
Then suddenly they can’t find me
‘Cause I just won the speed race

A dream come true, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262
Mach 0.82, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262

The Luftwaffe may be depleted
In the air defeated, but I am still elated
Mustang and Spitfire f-- you, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262

A dream come true, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262
Mach 0.82, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262
A dream come true, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262
Mach 0.82, I’m flying the Messerschmitt 262

The Me.262 seems to be a very popular plane for song writers. Someone should compose a tribute to the plane that almost was: the Piper PA-48 "Enforcer".

Wait until World of Warplanes gets past global alpha-hell, go sign up now-you'll have plenty of 262 larking about to sing about. They even have the Hg.III variant!
