The Lyrics

Hard to believe I beat the lefties to this one. Like Hank Jr., George Jr. takes after the old man, but with some deviations.
Right wing politicians
Have always been a real staunch family
But lately some of those wingnuts
Were displeased with my daddy and me
He said "read my lips"
But then he changed his direction
Looks like dad went and broke the family tradition

They get on me wanna know George
Why don't you puke
(George) Just like your old man
Back when he ate all that food in Japan?
At the Supreme Court
All them judges made their decision
Now I'm president
And that's just what I meant
By the family tradition

I am very proud
Of my daddy's name
Although his kinda pol'tics
And mine ain't exactly the same
Lone among the first sons
Quincy was in my position
If I'm in health and inherit wealth
It's a family tradition

Don't ask me George
Why don't you drink?
(George) Why did you cut tax?
Where do you go when you want to relax?
I'll be down at my Crawford ranch
Those peaceniks tryin' to give me corrections
I'll say leave me alone
And if I stay at home
It's a family tradition

Lordy, I have saved some ladies
From burkas, don't you see?
And then we went to Iraq
Back in two thousand and three
When the press corps asks me
George, why'd you bring about this condition?
I said look you guys, let me put you all wise
To the family tradition

So don't ask me George
Why go to war?
(George) Why did you attack?
Why did you have to send troops to Iraq?
I'll try to explain it
Try and put yourself in my unique position
If I send bombs and attack Saddam
It's a family tradition!

You got me confused Steve. I thought you were right-wing, yet this parody seems to put down Bush (I'm not too politically minded...). Regardless, this was a great parody of a favorite song of mine. 5s.

Red - Yes, I'm right wing, but that doesn't mean I always agree with Bush. In fact, the low (but recently improved) poll numbers he's had are partly due to us rightwingers being displeased with him, just like we were with his dad, back in 1990 when he raised taxes. Although I disagree with the "Bush Lied" crowd, I still find legitimate reasons to criticize him, and don't mind poking fun at him.
