Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Hip To Be Queer"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

He used to fear that he was gay,
It used to get him down.
And he had real fears of ravishment,
It used to so confound.
Always thought that he was straight,
He had a great career.
Started feeling gay-zy,
Then overcame his fear.
Once he figured what was going on,
It's hip to be queer.
It's hip to be queer.

He now likes boys in birthday suits,
He's screamin' as can be.
He's quirking out with every gay,
And likes those twinks so sweet.
He really is a sight to see,
All decked out in gay geer.
Now he's drivin' Miss Daisy,
So glad he's not austere.
But now he's so complying, he's,
Equiped like a queer.
It's hip to be queer.
Equiped like a queer.
It's hip to be queer.

He used to guard his bugger route,
He freed himself, he's gay.
He used to be a good boy scout,
Clean and rev'rant you say?
So now he's found the he-way,
He likes his hotdogs with a bun.
No longer does he fight it;
"an idea who's time has come."

This whole world's gone so crazy,
Go blow it out your ear.
They all agree,
It's hip to be queer.
It's hip to be queer.
It's hip to be queer.
So, It's hip to be queer.

It may be hip, but not my trip. Nice work Guy.

I've heard of "Queer Eye for the Straight GUY," but this is ridiculous! Of course, "ridiculous" is good here.

I wish someone could explain to me why it is considered hip and multiculturally politically correct for queers to dress up in leather or crinolines or costumes and arrange pride festivals, celebrating that they only want to engage in close encounters with their own kind, while it at the same time is considered to be nerdy, politically incorrect and a sign of social handicap to participate in science fiction conventions dressed up in latex or red minishirts or life supporting implants, celebrating the ultimate embracing of liberal acceptans for different viewpoints, looks, abilities, sexual orientation and political correctness transformed from just plain talk into acted out action (both on the screen and in real life) when it comes to individual freedom being more important than the right for any collective to enforce their will onto others, no matter how good the intentions of that collective may be. But then again, I guess itīs because I can see such double standards in modern society I keep coming back to this site and enjoy good parody songs like this one. :-)

Thank You 'Know 1'. It was the intent of this song to point out just what your comment says. I for one, get tired of being told that I am politically incorect if I don't accept something that is someone else's values and then have it constantly shoved in my face. I refuse to be politically correct when the value I'm being subjected to violates my morality or religious beliefs and convictions. When political correctness overshadows the truth, I will take the truth every time.

I've been called homophobic, xenophobic and some other phobics, because I choose to stick to my beliefs and not sell out to the status quo in the name of political correctness. Your comment is well received. Thanks.

know 1, it's meaningless to talk about a double standard when you make broad sweeping assertions -- it's like saying, how come 'society' thinks parody writing is nerdy, but at the same time there's a website full of people dedicated to it? Duh.

I knew it was real. I heard this on the radio a few months back and told people about it but nobody else heard it. Tried looking up the song to show them but save for this page I couldn't find anything.
