Great to see the mindless sheep of the GOP parrot whatever Fox News tells them to. The full quote: "Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. " He was referring to the bridges and roads (and other infrastructure) that businesses take for granted. Mitt and the other GOP wanks omit the first sentence because hey, context isn't necessary, the GOP sheep will swallow anything they are fed.
Dude is right, of course. But each side in this sleazefest takes quotes out of context to fit its ends.
As long as we're talking context, I challenge any Democrat to show the VIDEO of Obama saying this to an uncommitted voter. You wouldn't dare; because the sneering, arrogant hostile tone which Obama employed when he said these words is OBVIOUS! And interestingly enough, even though publicly financed infrastructure has been around for a century, no other President ever felt the need to make this point in such a condescending and hostile way.
If you look at photos from the mid to late 19th century you will see many tall buildings and thriving businesses with streets of mud around them. Private wealth had to be created first before there were any surplus funds to be taxed for public infrastructure. Furthermore, the fact that governments build most of the roads and bridges these days is no justification for the government spying on citizens, telling us what we can eat and drink, or using our funds to subsidize unproven or proven failure endeavors that no commercial lender would touch. Obama's message is that if government has created a few usable things, that it has the total right to totally control us.

The scope and breadth of Obama's ignorance never ceases to amaze. As a governmental, he pats himself on the back for the infrastructure, yet fails to acknowledge governments role in letting it crumble back to dust. 2.2 trillion is needed to repair the horrific conditions the roads, bridges, and buildings are in. His failed stimulus allotted 4.5% of what is needed to do a few "shovel-ready-oh-wait-there's-no-such-thing-as-shovel-ready" jobs. When the welfare state grew to unsustainable proportions, infrastucture's fate was sealed. Obama needs to go back to the comfy environs of academia and leave the real world to the people who actually live, work, sweat, and die in it.

Not bad, I am not voting in this election because I don't think either candidate is worth anything, if Obama wins, we end up a nanny state. If Romney wins, we will never have anything but the Mormon version of Iran again. (from my past comments on political parodies, and those parodists who know me more in-depth than my AIR comments, my stance on LDS and other religion is well-known) 4-5-5.
