Parody Song Title:

"Our Gang"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Spanky wears the beanie best
Darla's pretty in her dress
The kids go off to hunt some bears
Stymie's snoring in his sleep
Alfalfa keeps his cowlick peaked
It never goes down
Our Gang--Liitle Rascals in the street
Our Gang--in the movies back then

The gang is quite a crowd
They always put on talent shows
Alfalfa sings off-key and loud
They live in a small town
Nothing ever brings them down
The Depression's not around

Our Gang--life was simple, life was sweet
Our Gang, in the movies back then
Our Gang--could never understand Buckwheat
(Something tells me that he's got marbles stuck in his mouth)
Our Gang--in the movies back then

Butch is always such a jerk
He stuck a bullfrog down Alf's shirt
Such shenanigans at school!
Wheezer's sick; brother is pissed
He's now got to babysit
And grease his throat

Our Gang--the teacher was Miss Crabtree
Our Gang--in the movies back then

Back in the '30s, man, kids weren't so sophisticated and
They would go to junkyards for their playtime
Such a happy time
They didn't take an acting class, but in the flicks they did surpass
Wouldn't you say no one could act like Farina?
I say "Yeah!"

Jackie Cooper behaved best
Mary Jackson was a pest
And puppies running everyhwere!
Stymie's cooking ham and eggs
And a giant birhday cake
Must weigh 60 pounds!

Our Gang--life was simple, life was sweet
Our Gang--bulls-eyed pup who they named Pete
Our Gang--never really liked Froggy
Our Gang--in the movies back then
Our Gang--Robert Blake was named Mickey
Our Gang--fat kids Chubby and Porky
Our Gang--how did Waldo stay so neat?
Our Gang--life was simple, life was sweet
Our Gang--with the teacher Miss Crabtree...

Hehe--it was the recent "Our Group" that acutally inspired me to write THIS one!

Ah! The glorious 30s! When little kids could own Pete the pit bull and no one worried about it! :-D

Agrimorfee - I WAS wondering if that one of mine had any influence on this choice - I know I get a lot more parody ideas when I regularly check out other people's work. Even though it didn't get a lot of votes (probably a lot of "DKTOS") the idea to do "Brother's Ant Farm" the other day was a bit influenced by your "Frog" parody.

I love this one, though it isn't ha-ha funny. What a trip down that black and white road.

(ABC) Nostalgic and sweet!

(ABC) Alas, I can't really relate to this well constructed piece. I only know the cowlick reference, the rest was like some wonderful world of old school snortles. It was still fun to read.

Damn you, JD - I was going to use exactly those words ;)
