Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Drank a can today
and a sixpack yesterday and another other day
Felt strange itch on my shoulderblades and
I felt how two feathery things emerged, oh - oh-

Red Bull gave me wings!
I need to learn to fly, learn to soar and land
I'll fly around, do rings
the FAA don't understand - how
Red Bull gave me wings

I need to clean my home
now the floor is full of feathers, need it done
I also need new clothes as my old won't fit
me anymore and my new wings -

Red Bull gave me wings!
I need to learn to fly, learn to soar and land
I'll fly around, do rings
the FAA don't understand - how
Red Bull gave me wings
Yeah, yeah

Gave me wings!
Gave me wings!

Oh dear, it's mutagenic and I've grown wings
What will FAA say?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Red Bull gave me wings!
I need to learn to fly, learn to soar and land
I'll fly around, do rings
the FAA don't understand - how

Red Bull gave me wings!
I need to learn to fly, learn to soar and land
I'll fly around, do rings
the FAA don't understand - how
Red Bull gave me wings
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh
Thanks Matthias for a good idea!

The idea which Matthias coded in his spoof was too tasty not to leave unused. But at least now the problem of workplace commuting would be resolved... unless the almighty bureaucracy would have something to say with it. Needless to say about all the other practicalities, like having to sew all-new clothes and cleaning up all those falling feathers and fluff. But, hey, as an idea that would be wonderful!

This reminds me of all the proposed backpack helicopters from WW2 to postwar. Germany, France, Britain, US, and USSR all tried with mixed results. Germany even tried a flight pack and Bell derived the Rocket Belt off it although flying 21 seconds at low altitude isn't true sustained flight. Wingsuits seem to be the future until a one-man ANGRAV unit is produced... btw, 5s. I don't drink Red Bull and their commercials are annoying at best.

*smile* I'm sure Peter (K1chyd) would immediately recognize "Karlsson på taket" by Astrid Lindgren...

"Karlsson på taket" updated to a military version? Naah, for one it was always my least favorite Astrid Lindgren story as a kid, for two it's the one book/idea of hers that gives credibility to underground rumours that she too among other might artists of that era was sometimes experimenting with psychedelics.
