The Lyrics

Manoeuvres in the Dark (though military rather than Orchestral) seems to be the special talent of North Korean leader Kim Jung-il. I think this parody is about him (from his viewpoint) though it could also be about the Pakistani dictator or the newly elected Iranian president.
Payola Way
I'm getting paid by the peons today
The whole land's at my feet
They're kneeling and it's bloody sweet

These bribes I get
They're gonna make the IRS upset
U-huh, it's A-OK
The state I'm in it isn't USA

An intern teen
And all the time I need to be obscene
I'll get a massage an' fellatio
Twice daily formal that's the ratio

Payola Way
My little country got the bomb someway
U-huh all UN pray
It's never ever gonna come in play

Payola Way
I shouldn't even have to ask for whey
U-huh, it's A-OK
I'll cut the cheese out of it anyway

Another teen
And "inspiration" on a silver screen
Another massage an' fellatio
Twice daily formal that's the ratio

Payola Way
Bin Laden sent his daughter, and bouquet
But you should see this wife
I can't get out, it's like I'm serving life

TOS, it must be early 80s, right? (the synth tells me so). Good job here Peter.

Very early 80s indeed, it charted in the UK in 1980 and over here shortly after that. I'm not sure when the album was released, if it was the year before the decade police will probably come forth tonight and tell me so. :-)
Decade police - August 25, 2005 - Report this comment
No, you're okay. You say it charted in 1980, so 80s is correct.

I doubt that the real Decade Police made that comment. They usually capitalize both "Decade" and "Police". Besides, the real ones are known to make a comment only when the decade is wrong.
