The Lyrics
Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” recently made racist and anti-Gay comments in GQ magazine that caused his network A&E to suspend him indefinitely from the tv show. He used the Bible to slam Gays and linked their behavior to bestiality while also claiming that Blacks were “singing and happy” in the historically oppressive South!!! “Duck Dynasty” is at the top of “White Trash” cable television, but A&E supports LGBT rights and is against racism in any form. Even if one is a Believer, you love the person and hate the sin, so telling people that homosexuality leads to bestiality is not only inaccurate, but extremely offensive. Then add racist comments aimed at Black people who endured oppression and murder in the South… well, Phil deserves the backlash and media storm he is getting. And I personally find it offensive that my party, the GOP, is defending these remarks as a way to promote “family values” and “morality” towards the 2014 and 2016 campaigns.
