The Lyrics

Thought control isn't the same as mind control. Thought control is usually a voluntary house built atop an instinctual foundation. This - it needs no consent, merely your availability to your masters and the desire of those masters for 'proper' slaves. Sort of a species of remote-controlled puppet that can be controlled to such an extent that it has neither mind nor will of its own, and the manner of its life and the day of its death is *totally* subject to its master's 'inclination of the moment'. Are we there yet? You tell me.
The coming world, or when pigs actually fly.

We don't need your defecation,
There's not a need for thought control,
Minds are programmed in the classroom,
Just write our chips, and we will know...
All the smarts of a traffic cone!
All the feelings of rotting bones.
Silence! All thinking, speech - that be ours alone.
All that is, all that was - is but ours alone.

Lost, a whirlwind of destruction,
Constant loss, mental malfunction,
Propaganda screams at us daily,
Fear of fashion, fear of failing.
All the smarts, of a traffic cone!
All the feelings, of a rotting bone!
Your only wish is to be another brick in the wall!
Mortar and grime cover your face as a brick in the wall.

Screaming carousell imported from hell itself.

Smashed and broken, society's failure,
Crushed and ground, fed to the worms,
All around you, people laughing,
Your misfortune is their pleasure!
All the smarts of a traffic cone!
All the feelings of rotting bones.
The wall has crumbled, now you're hidden from sight,
The wall has conquered, it's proven itself right.

(The last word of the last line 'right' is echoed as the song
slowly fades)
The last portion is what I 'hear' when I mentally run this 'song' through my head with the recalled music portion. I'd most likely redo that, but I don't currently have the time or the equipment to redo these, much less my original 'songs' (which I have been writing since the early eighties. (Yes, my first song - a 'Punk' example, titled 'kill to win' was written when Punk was new, and had I the social skills, who knows? I might well have formed a band and gotten in REAL trouble. (I'm an absolute lunatic on stage.)

Your visual imagery and allegories make "Eve of Destruction" sound like "Happy Days Are Here Again". Such bitterness, such bile, such hopelessness. I love it. If you can find it on youtube, check out the old Hewlett Packard commercial where the mindless masses were standing in line for a window manned by a skeleton, while another group of ragged refugees push a 1954 Kaiser Manhattan along a railroad track under the gaze of writhing gargoyles. Your entries today remind me of that commercial.

Equally as frightening as your Dante-flavored parody. And equally as good! ;D
