The Lyrics

A little history of the invention of the airplane via The Wright Brothers Wilbur and Orville.
Verse 1: Back into hist’ry, two brothers were born
Will and Orville, had a dream they sworn
A thing so crazy, all the people laughed
But all of this, won’t break their path
“A fatal obsession”, is all people said
“If you keep this up boys, you may just wind up dead!”

“Gotta keep our eyes on the circling skies”
Dumbfound exploring, how to get us soaring by

Verse 2: Flight’s the object, on the edge of their break
No need to deflect, they thought they thought of all it’d take
No blueprints either, to lie out their plans
A problem indeed, is hard in hand
Two souls’ invention, just trying to fly
The mission’s grounded, but determined to try

“Gotta keep our eyes on the circling skies”
Dumbfound exploring, how to get us soaring by

Verse 3: Three-axis control, was the answer to prayer
It allowed steering, but it still kept all men in the air
Across the clouds, they see their machine fly
Out of the corner of their watering eyes
A dream that’s realized, by 1903
Well thanks Wright bros
Now I can go to Maui
There’s no sensation to compare to this
Invented aviation, that we all missed

And they kept their eyes on the circling skies
Damn good exploring, that did get us soaring by

Cute and clever and educational. I like how you avoided ending that chorus with the semi-poetic "...I!"

(Artistry) If I recall my history, the brothers said that inventing how to fly was the easy part. The hard part was getting through all those TSA patdowns and scans. Good takeoff and landing with this one.

LOL Rex. . .Something about this one was charming. . .though I didn't really laugh, but that's not always important. This is one of very few songs where changing up the type of rhymes works because it has very distinct pronunciation, in particular because you kept certain distinct rhyme's intact, so it's okay--I can be picky on rhymes because changing it up a lot, like you did, is sometimes hard to follow and can make a recording or performance sound too different from the original (where fans of original lose interest), in this particular one it wasn't. . .so good job
