The Lyrics
I wrote this parody while waiting for exercise to be submitted by my students via email. They were given few days to complete an exercise. However, as the due date was nearing, I only received a few emails from them. The majority still did not submit their completed exercise to me. This prompted me to write the parody which I later posted on the class FB as a reminder to those who had not submitted.
You excuse yourself day after day
And you keep playing Solitaire
You have been told, the deadline is today
But you do not seem to care
When I do see you next week
Remind me to give you some kicks
For shopping you go

I will be right here waiting for your
exercise that I gave
Despite this heat wave
I will be right here waiting for you
I take for granted of the rhyme
That this song doesn’t sound great
You screw-up your chance, you waste my time
As I’m sitting here and wait
Oh, sometimes I do hate teaching
I wish that I had been trading
