Song Parodies -> "Arylcyclohexamines"

Original Song Title:

"Simply Irresistible"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Robert Palmer

Parody Song Title:

"Arylcyclohexamines"

Parody Written by:

Red Ant

The Lyrics

Arylcyclohexylamines is a odd group of substances. If you do not know them at all, none of this will make sense ( sometimes ignorance is bliss ). PS- that word has 8 syllables vs TOS 7, so I will abbreviate it to " Arylcyclohexamines " omitting the second " yl " ( and it's slighty easier to pronounce ).
No they are not amphetamines
For synthesis need pyridine, yeah yeah
Possibly some piperidine
Maybe some pyrrholidine

You'll be crazed on the horse, it's a powerful force
You have now been informed in this chemistry course
They used to be unknown to me, but now I call them
Arylcyclohexamines
Arylcyclohexamines

It's also know as super weed, huh?
Chemical's phencyclidine
A k-hole is from ketamine
The vets they use tiletamine

Yes it's C.S.A. law, was Ronald Regan's cause
Now D.E.A. take pause, I am warning because
They used to look good to me, but I don't do them
Arylcyclohexamines
Arylcyclohexamines

Arylcyclohexamines
( Blow your mind, there's no tellin' what the hell you did )
Arylcyclohexamines
( These -amines, find some other way to go )

Know Dizocilpine? It's MK eight o one
I have not tried them but I hear that they're no fun
They're wreaking lawlessness, and making analogs
They used to be unknown to me, but now I call them
Arylcyclohexamines
Blows your mind, there's no tellin' where the hell you went
Arylcyclohexamines
The -amines, find some other way to go

( solo )

You confused by all of these -amines?
It's just an ending to a means,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Don't try them in your wildest dreams
Hope you don't get a urine screen

You'll be crazed and divorced, and I know that for sure
I'm obliged to inform when there's no other source
They used to be unknown to me, but now I call them
Arylcyclohexamines
( Blows your mind, there's no tellin' where the hell you went )
Arylcyclohexamines
( These -amines, find some other way to go )
Arylcyclohexamines
( Olney's mind, there's no tellin' what the hell you did )
Arylcyclohexamines
( There not fine, find some other way to go )
Arylcyclohexamines
PS- If you REALLY want to f*** up your life, then try these. PSS- You cannot make any substance listed with the chemicals mentioned here.

Ps- The word " or " is missing from the last line of the first stanza, and the first line of the second stanza should read at the end " 5th dimensional force ". Prounounced er-el-ci-clo-hex-uh-means.

Man, I'm sorry...I don't know this song. But I'm impressed that you wrote a parody using such syllabic words. I couldn't even pronounce that a-word at a normal pace. It takes skill to use large words like that and pull off a rhyming parody, so good work on that.

Thanks SJ. This parody was made mostly for myself and Johnny D, who has been doing several substance related parodies. I have always loved TOS because of it's 3,4,5 syllable words that rhyme ( fairly closely ). May be one of the few that I will make several parodies of ( breaking my own general rule of not parodying a song more than twice ).

Red Ant, bravo! I know the OS, and you did an excellent job. I invite you to read my own upcoming parody of the same OS, titled, "Pimply-Ear Resist A Bull".

Thanks Johnny D. After I made that suggestion the other day, it gave ME an idea to do it. So now we have all of the arylcyclohexylamines covered ( well except analogs, but I did mention them ). Looking foward to your parody.

This made me a little lightheaded so I put it away to think about later. Gosh it should be easy to tell when YOU come down with Alzheimer's.

After this, nothing I could say would be clever enough. Love the OS, love this....5's

Newfoghill: Olney's lesions are what you get when you do these, which basically means they turn your brain into Swiss cheese ( which is worse than Alzheimer's probably, that's why I DON'T do them ). Rick Cormier: Thanks, I can't say anything clever enough to your reply either, so will call it a stalemate. :)

Great work. There are a few of these long-chemical-word parodies about, go a-huntin' for them!
Red Ant - April 11, 2005 - Report this comment
Yeah Jake, the next one may be " Tetrahydrocannibinol " but will have to due some research on that ( book research, not first hand ).

Nice one, Red Ant - DKTOS, but really enjoyed reading through this one - and if you're wanting some ideas for other class A drugs to write songs about, have a look here: http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/gilbertandsullivan0.shtml

Holy $hit! Just saw that parody! That beats EVERYTHING Johnny D. and I have come up with so far put togther as far as drug mentions. I now have to invent a new drug that has not been mentioned there just so I can parody it!
