Barry's got quite a conundrum on his hands. His massive programs will tax the bejeezus out of the wealthy. Yet his ideology is against wealth building. So when the rich are no more, guess who gets taxed to death next. This is the fundamental flaw of socialism.

And the fundamental flaws of capitalism are a public unprotected from corporate greed and their political influence and a chasm between the haves and have nots. I think the question is balance, which our country does not have. It's all groovy to do the survival of the fittest ideal (social darwinism and all that), but you leave a vast majority of the population out of the mix. A contributing part of society, I might add. I'm personally glad the government got in the health care game. Healthy competition should bring about adequate health care change- hasn't happened. Piece meal is better than comprehensive- doesn't work because for a piece meal plan to work, you need, uh, a comprehensive plan. Overall, a solid vitriolic parody.

Government prevents health care competition The current dilemma derives from World War Two, when wage controls and punitive tax rates made it difficult for manufacturers to attract and retain skilled workers. Health insurance was an allowable form of compensation. It soon became a part of union contracts. Ultimately people became conditioned to the belief that medical needs should be paid by someone else. Corporate and government bureaucracies forced prices upward placing a strain on non-union workers. The current bill will destroy the "evil" insurance companies, leaving the government in charge. Those people lucky enough to still have a job will see their taxes raised to pay for subsidies, perhaps even to subsidize themselves. Funds collected will go into a fund just like Social Security, which the congress will loot for other projects. As for the threats of violence, this bill is nothing more than a threat of violence against the uninsured, forcing to buy something they can't afford or pay a penalty they can't afford, for a policy that will prove utterly useless the moment they actually need it. While we're at it, lets end homelessness by ordering the people who have no houses to buy them, and fine them money they don't have for failing to do so. Glad you liked the song.
