Living in the Arctic Ocean,
Where mammals barely can thrive
Is a creature of great mystery,
In the cold northen poles can survive,

Long ago, they traded its teeth,
For supposed magical powers,
They didn't know it was from what beast,
As they had never seen it alive...

It's the horn of the narwhal, it's a modified tooth
Sprouting out in the shape of a spiral,
A long ivory tusk like some sea unicorn,
Is in truth just the majestic horn...of the narwhal!

Male narwhals have only two teeth,
The one on the right stays quite small,
But the left one protrudes through the lip,
Grows as long as a human is tall!

But just why a whale has a tusk, nobody can answer,
