The Lyrics

Below is a list of complaints I have with a lot of modern films, which is why the 90s are my favorite decade as far as films go they didn't do half of this bullsh*t that they do today. Also I reference that "my future is in Hollywood" that's because currently I'm enrolled in school with a major in film.
Modern films are strife
Directed by hacks
Still they make a heap
Pointless remakes
Gothic versions from Tim Burton
It is certain eyes are hurtin’
Stop these crummy films from Hollywood

This crap makes me whine
Getting worse and worse
What caused its decline?
Blame those crackpots
Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer
“Meet the Spartans” was disaster
Kick these guys straight out of Hollywood

Are we doomed to Saw’s endless sequels?
Stifle laughs while Will Farrell is a clown
I can’t see with this mindless 3D!
So mad this gets them famous!
The scripts are so damn heinous!
Sick of yucky films from Hollywood

[Intermission: “Let’s all go to the lobby to get ourselves a treat”]

Done with Michael Bay’s explosions!
300’s use of slow-motion!
Through with crappy films from Hollywood!

Said that I’ll never, never, never, never, never watch them!
Rob Zombie’s films are not gems
Stick to music not to Hollywood

Even Twilight scored some treasure
I can’t measure my displeasure!
Since my future is at Hollywood

This one seemed cliche to me. . .I think we all hit the movie industry at some point, but its not bad. . .this particular OS is more challenging than it seems
Matthias - August 31, 2010 - Report this comment
What do you mean cliche? These aren't generic complaints I honestly hate everything I wrote about in this parody!

At least Julia Roberts still can lick the big A but whatever happened to Tom Hanks?

You get the Emmys and Oscars for Best Parody. I ain't seen a cinema movie release in over a year. I saw Tears For Fears live once and they're anything but crummy. Dubya, Hitler, Mao, Stalin may all wanted to rule the world but your clever insightful telling-it-like-it-is parody of the horrible Hollywood crapola machine RULES - as in rule the universe!
Mark Scotti - August 31, 2010 - Report this comment
This was wonderful, Matthias!! You are ABSOLUTELY right, they do NOT make good films anymore...

I must agree with you. No, really, I mean, I *must* agree with you, because I complained of the same thing (in much more detail, naturally, being TT) four years ago:
"Gory, Gory: Haul In Moolah (Battle Hymn Of The Movies)"

I too DK what BAD's complaint is - original writing and of good quality. 555

I saw Toy Story 3 the other day and it wasn't half bad, making a rubicund teddy bear the main villain (oops, spoiler) was a stroke of genius, but I gotta admit the 3D thingy that's so popular at the moment doesn't do much for me (though I might change my mind in a couple of week when I've seen my first zombie movie in 3D, the new Resident Evil is coming to town).

(artistry) loved this one on the last read, and it has not changed(as well as how they're still making bad movies!!!)

(Artistry 80) I have to admit that '300' and 'Meet The Spartans' were the corniest films I ever saw in my whole life! I've been warned not to buy CD's or DVD's because I would end up getting those celebs rich. Some of them are already waist deep in money as it is. My favorite type of movies are indie films, mostly done in low budget. Well, that's just me. There may be many crummy films in Hollywood, but your parody gets 555 thumbs up!
Rex - September 12, 2010 - Report this comment
(Artistry) It's all about the $$$ and nothing about the quality of the script. Hurry up and graduate so you can straighten them out, Matt! Oh, and I have a script I wrote lying around here somewhere if you need one... ;-)
bobpiecheese - September 12, 2010 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I suppose it's all a matter of preference. I never know what to say with these "every movie these days sucks" parodies. I can't agree or disagree because I rarely watch movies anymore. Still, the parody was amusing enough, worth a 555.

I don't know, my opinion hasn't really changed, I just didn't get a big laugh. Rhyming and pacing were fantastic, but the examples weren't really well supported--hard to do with a minimalist song, so I'll let it pass. . .just not a favorite of your collection--then again I guess you have to have an average one now and then;)
