The Lyrics

This song is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the Queen of Hearts, who takes the sick pleasure in decapitating people for getting in her way, or better yet, not getting her way. However, I'm only familiar with the Disney version of the movie. As sung in Alice's POV.
Hard times in Wonderland, escaped as I end up in Pokerland
Crossed the hedge maze, cards* paint rose to rose
Painted them red and now they're toast
Having meet, not so sweet, queen of mean
She's out of control with depravity
She's out of line and her screws are loose
We get in her face: our heads in a noose
Flies in outrage when we had broken her rules, yeah

(Don't miff the Queen of Hearts) she'll hold us responsible
(Queen of Hearts) Don't start miffing the Queen of Hearts
(Don't miff the Queen of Hearts)
(Won't win with Queen of Hearts) reasoning's impossible
(Queen of Hearts) Won't win from Queen of Hearts (She is so mean)

She spies guilt in our eyes
Her tempers would rise as she seeks for divine execution
Pawn to her game, hard to defeat, will get her way
High and mighty royal making such big deals
I have no idea why she's causing a scene
Feeling so flushed down in Pokerland
We're fools to her rules of her guillotined plan
Hostile her style, we're in a jam

(Can't win with Queen of Hearts) never win (Queen of Hearts)
(Can't win with Queen) (Won't win from Queen of Hearts)
(Queen of Hearts)
Can't win from queen, her temper's obscene, the termagant queen has no heart

(Instrumental Break)

Feeling strained, let her have it, so the Cheshire cat instigates it
Stood in court, crime committed, paid the price, soon regret it
Everyone hears about it, everyone fears about it
Everyone (everyone, yeah yeah)
Everyone (everyone) fears about her, fears about her
Sharpening the axe and those great knives
And the knives they will slice that head...of ours

(Trumpet solo)

(Don't mess with Queen of Hearts) Oh, the Queen of Hearts
Don't mess with the queen, Don't irk the queen

(Another instrumental break)

Obeying the queen of hearts, we obey the queen
Worship the queen of hearts, respecting the queen of hearts
(Gambling my life with the Queen of Hearts)

(Crime committed absurd, bellowed she said, "Off with her head!"
Crime had ate up my words, bellowed she said, "Off with her head!"
Served time in Pokerland (Crime committed absurd)
Accused of a crime I don't understand (bellowed she said)
Traveled most paths ran from world to world ("Off with my head!")
Every minute of every hour here I run and cower (losing my head)
Feeling prey to the queen's power (this I shall dread)
Queen's power, queen's (I might be dead) power

(I miffed the Queen of Hearts, Queen of Hearts...I miffed the Queen of Hearts)
(Challenged the Queen of Hearts, Queen of Hearts)
I challenged the queen (challenged the Queen of Hearts)
Shallow, the Queen of Hearts, she's shallow the queen (queen of hearts)
Challenged the queen's...antipathy...face guillotine that queen's no heart
(Sullied the queen of hearts, queen of hearts, sullied the queen of hearts)
(Bullied by Queen of Hearts) cuz she's mean (Queen of Hearts) so obscene
(Hassled by Queen of Hearts, Trampled by Queen of Hearts, Queen of Hearts)
(Sullied the queen...I faced defeat..atrocity from Queen of Hearts)
(Running from Queen of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, running from queen)
(Chased by the Queen of Hearts, and her cards, chased by the queen)
(Running from Queen of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, running from queen)
(Chased by the Queen of Hearts, and her cards, chased by the queen)
*Soldiers that have playing cards for bodies.

Excellent job, Christie...nice to see your by-line again...Doesn't look like an easy one to do, either...fine phrasing and inter-rhyming

Your Looking Glass has lots of class! Don't look now, but I think the Cheshire Cat is winking at you. ;D

Thanks for your support, AFW and OMR!

AFW - Yep, this was a very tough song to parody. I got more parodies in the works! Nice to be writing again.

OMR - Returning the wink! ;D My looking glass may have class, but the Queen of Hearts is crass and a royal pain in the a**!

Yeah the Queen of Hearts is in a league of her own, I see myself as more of a Mad Hatter:)

Thanks lots, B.A. Dave! :)...I concur that the Queen sure is in a league of her own. LOL on the Mad Hatter, who's kinda kooky, but hilarious and his antics are very infectuous, as well as his friend March Hare. As for myself, I see myself as Alice, and sometimes one of the flower girls in the movie.

Thanks lots, TT and Peter! :)

TT - I didn't know you dated the Queen of Hearts! You're lucky you could hide your head under your shell! LOL!!

Pete - I'm more than glad to protect your little head at anytime!

ATTENTION! Oh, sorry I was just talking to 3 playing cards, which each of course is the 5 of hearts! 555! ;-)

Thanks, Wild Child! :)...Great card pun! Hey, since you have "wild" to your name, maybe you could be the card in training, eh? :) Glad you enjoyed this!

Wow, this song is intense to parody! You must be a "Jack" of all trades when it comes to parody writing. Or should I say a Jill, I'm not sure. I've never seen the Disney movie, but I've read the book, which was very strange, yet appealing. 555

Thanks, DJ! :)...Thanks for taking the time to vote and comment on my parody. Yeah, whether I'm the "Jack" or "Jill" of trades of parody writing, this is the hardest song to spoof and took me a long while to complete it. I got more parodies in the works and halfway done with the Ricky Martin based parody. I read "Alice In Wonderland" and saw the movie. I love both Disney and the recent version of the movie. Glad you enjoyed and hopefully you can v/c and write parodies soon, of course, only when you feel like it.

(Artistry) here's a five of spades, five of clubs, and five of diamonds. That should beat a queen of hearts...
Christie Marie M - September 08, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Mark! :)...Wow, a great card pun since Guy DiRito's comment on Alvin's "She Bellowed 'I'm The Queen' " parody: http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles2125.shtml. I forgot to mention that this is kind of a response to his parody as well. Yeah, 3 sets of 5's should beat Queen of Hearts...just hope she don't decapitate them (j/k).

I like what you did with this, and kudos for following each step of the vocals along the way...this was a very difficult tune to do, I can tell.
Christie Marie M - September 11, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Agri! :)...Glad you enjoyed and was not an easy tune to do. But I managed it, though I wished I would've put more work into it.

(Artistry) I smile and slowly fade, until there's nothing left but the 5's... epic work!

Thanks, Rex! :)...Returning the faded smile back at ya! Thanks for the 5's and glad you enjoyed this one!

(Artistry) Oddly enough, the first thing I think when I think of Alice in Wonderland is this play version of it my older brother was in a few years ago. He played a French train driver who sang a salsa number, which is just stupid enough to work in Wonderland, methinks. Great parody by a great parodist about a great Disney villain, 555!
Christie Marie M - September 12, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, bobpie/T-COP! :)...I'm very flattered by your last remark from your comment as well! I kinda rushed into it, though. Wow, your bro is in an Alice In Wonderland play! I also didn't remember a French train driver in the story...or maybe I'm still thinking of the Disney version. Whenever I think of Alice in Wonderland, I think of Jabberwocky's, Queen of Hearts' tarts being stolen, and Alice's curiosity that almost got her nearly killed! But glad you enjoyed this!
