The Lyrics

I always thought "Netanyahu" was such a good match to "Desperado", but I was waiting for him to come back into the headlines. Wait no more!
Netanyahu

Netanyahu, why don't you come to your senses?
These Israeli defenses are so strong now
You're a hard-liner
I know Lecud has its reasons
It may seem like treason, now
To give any ground

Don't you draw down with Obama, boy
You're party's too unstable
You know that Hillary is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, concessions
Have been offerred at the table
But you always want the ones that you can't get

Netanyahu, this fight ain't gettin no youger
These Arabs all hunger to have their own home
And freedom, oh freedom well, thats just Ramallah talkin
Is-ra-el is walkin through this world all alone

Don't you think there should be a Palestine?
If so, then it's time that you grew a spine
Its hard to tell the settlements to cease
You're givin up a bunch of sand
Ain't it funny how they call that "land for peace"?

Netanyahu, why don't you come to your senses?
Reduce your expences, give them a state
It may be painful, but theres a new expectation
You better let them have a nation,
(Let them have a nation)
You better let them have a nation, before its too late
Wish I could have worked "Bebe" in their someplace.

And I thought we were scraping the bottom of the barrel with "Desperado" parodies, but I forgot about the Nutty Yahoo. There should be no Palestinian state as long as Hamas has any influence. But that doesn't mean Netanyahu is any good. I keep hoping he's learned something from his last time in power, when he was a maniac and quite corrupt. But then, 40 years ago, America was told there was a "New Nixon," and we trusted him, and how did that work out?

Excellent (even if some of the spellings were fairly, er, creative) - loved the penultimate verse, perfect in both substance and scansion.

Michael - if you think there should be no Palestinian state if Hamas has any influence, then that'll be never: Hamas is going to have to learn to get along with Israel every bit as much as Israel is going to have to learn to get along with Hamas, as things stand both sides have exactly the same sorts of bravado and lack of spine when it comes to dealing with their own problems.

Good match on the story and the OS - very plaintive cry to Netanyahu

I admire any Cowboy (even Him out there on the Golan heights) who wears his 'Spurs" and is NOT afraid to use them! !
