The Lyrics

I had a dream that I was visited by myself from the future yesterday, apparently my subconscious has an urge to tell me that this song can't wait to be published until I'll write it in the year 2047 - You all need to be warned now!
Behold the thought of DNA
As a science to crew up
And learn to think that the one you are
Are just not good enough

It's funny how a man can be
Another place times two or three
I never know where my clones are
You'll never know where your clones are

They're set up by technician bots
To replace just anyone
I'm now out of commission
AND a man who is his son

And though it's an upgrading
I bring this warning from afar
I never know where my clones are
You'll never know where your clones are

Sometimes you may find them
At McDonald's gorging fries
Sometimes they'll just piss you
off by not taking advice

Solo (sic!)

At first I outsourced drinking but
It was through an outvote
And when they overtook my sluts
Was the day they'd me demote

And now I'm four personas
That I don't hold in high regard
I never know where my clones are
You'll never know where your clones are

Sometimes you may find them
With your wife in sheets disguise
Somehow that's not cheating
'Cos she's clinging to YOUR thighs

You should send them out bedizened
Try to get the bastards shot
Or you should trade your extras
For their meat if you are hot

It's funny how a man can be
Another place times two or three
I never know where my clones are
You'll never know where your clones are
I never know where my clones are
You'll never know where your clones are

It's funny how a man can be
Another place times two or three
I never know where my clones are
You'll never know where your clones are

I liked it Peter. The topic of cloning is always fun. In this place that often frowns on repeated choruses, I liked the repeat at the end.
BTW...your name came up when we were in Tampa and we all agreed how impressive it is that you write so well here, though English isn't your 1st language. As for me...In High School I took 3 years of Spanish 1

Love the idea, love the execution, look like some people are sharpening their SOTM August knifes early. . .I better get in gear. . .

Thank you Invisible Boy! The repeated chorus at the end seemed to make sense in this case, since warnings are often repeated over and over and over. Maybe I should have capitalized the very last line though, to imply increased narrator desperation over getting someone to listen to him.

And thank you B.A.D but this will probably not be my next SOTM entry, well maybe, but the not varied choruses, although justified in context IMHO, would work against it there I think.

Cloning is really cool. We've tried it multiple times. This song is great. Ooh, we've got a request....do a song about The Fly (both versions the original 50's one and the 80's remake) it's one of our favourite sci fi movies.
