The Lyrics

The tiny African state of Djibouti is here. You may not of heard of it, but read this parody and I guarantee you will NEVER forget it.....Part 2 of my Obscure Nations series.
A madman in Zimbabwe,
School shootings and tsunamis
Road ragers sure alarm me
And make me cry

Ridiculous gas prices
And Britney's latest crisis
There's so much ain't right sis; I know why...

Don't blame it on the Shi-ites
Don't blame it on the far right
Don't blame it on the websites
Blame it on Djibouti!

Don't blame it on the fast food
Don't blame it on the Youtube
Don't blame it on the rich dudes
Blame it on Djibouti!

That place (Djibouti) gets me
Way down there on the Red Sea
If I'm getting testy
You should too....

The big hole in the ozone
No signal for my cellphone
A ready-made scapegoat, and it's Djibou.....(ti)

Don't blame it on the bad crops
Don't blame it on the mad cops
Don't blame it on the despots
Blame it on Djibouti!

Don't you blame it on your mother
Or alcoholic father
I'm certain you would rather
Blame it on Djibouti!

Missing socks?
Chickenpox?
Engine knocks? It's Dji-bou-ti...

Boring dates?
Running late?
Thing's ain't great? It's Dji-bou-ti...

Drippy nose?
Fungal toes?
PC froze? It's Dji-bou-ti...

Luggage lost?
Nasty boss?
All because of Dji-bou-ti!

...(bad) karma?
Don't call the Dalai Lama
Or blame it on Osama
Blame it on Djibouti!

Don't blame the Middle East strife
Or mugger with a big knife
Don't blame it on your ex-wife
Blame it on Djibouti!

Your car ain't running smoothly
Kids talk to you uncouthly
Stop thinkin', "Someone shoot me;
Life's not fair!"

Djibouti's so so tiny
Not hard to kick it's hiney
Folks won't try to stop you: they don't care!

Don't blame it on the black man
Don't blame it on the taxman
Don't blame it on the Bush clan
Blame it on Djibouti!

Don't you blame it on your teachers
Or slimy, lyin' preachers
Prepare to storm the beaches
Blame it on Djibouti!

Big bills? (wooohh!)
Roadkills? (ewww)
Heath'r Mills? (erk!)
Djibouti!

(Hear you mutter..)
What's wrong? (don't ask)
Face long?
Small schlong? (oh lord..)
Djibouti!

(goddarn cheatin')
Umpires? (baseball season)
Bushfires? (what's the reason?)
Loose wires? (yeah)
Djibouti!

(Ev'rything that sucks)
Lockjaw? (It's Djibouti's fault)
Boer War? (Somewhere there's Djibouti)
Mike Moore? (This tune's too darn long)
Djibouti!

Pay cut? (not your bosses)
Beer gut? (not the Fosters)
Sore butt (let's point the finger)
Djibouti....

Cold sores? (come from Djibouti)
Dee-vorce? (Djibouti's gotta stop!)
Of course! (nowhere else but)

Djibouti!

FADE

Outstanding concept and humorous rhyming throughout. Even though the Boer War ended over 100 years ago and Djibouti was only created 30 years ago, I agree - blame it on Djibouti! In fact, that might be a winning presidential campaign slogan.

Ohmigod - you realise you've just written Dubya Bush's Campaign Song, don't you? Still worth a heap of 5s though :^D I loved this one thoroughly - and darn right it's Djibouti's fault! Don't believe all that *but no-one's ever heard of it* tosh, people - that's part of their coverrrrr!!!!!

John: Don't let the whole "didn't even exist back then" trick fool ya...;-)

Wendy: Thanks, m'dear! Djibouti's a sneaky one, to be sure: don't turn your back. :-D

Jase: Cheers, and never mind (I DID warn ya...)

Mason: No, buddy: I'm not that malevolent....

Jack: awwww, where's my "awesome"? :_D Thanks, buddy

Sheik: ??????? (my confusion is due to prevailing Djiboutiishness in the atmosphere)

Alvin: No matter what, no matter when.....

McK: I think I'll let YOU tackle that one, mate (Milli Vanilli? *shudder*)

Jack: And that one's yours as well! ;-)

Matthias: Dude, Professor K has more to come!!!!

Thanks a bunch everyone

Top shelf spoofing and twisting of current events...I knew there had to be one key reason for all those things...Bravo!

In response to your post-parody request: A friend of mine who just got back from Africa has these issues: Underpaid Sloppy maid Seldom laid Blame it on Djibouti.

Along the lines of what Sisyphus said, I was wondering: is Djibouti ruled by a sheik? It'd make state visits a bit more fun...
Sheik Yamunni - November 06, 2007 - Report this comment
They throw a lot of money at the Mid East and the war effort. It's a wonder that they can even afford pens & pencils for the troops that are here in the states.

McK - I'll have one Milli Vanilli Sheik and send the bill to Bahrain. 555 Dinars should just about pay for that shake.
Guy - November 06, 2007 - Report this comment
Dits-aboaty-time someone put their finger on who is the cause for all of our problems.

Mangled-Tangled-Strangled
It's Djibouti!

Already voted 5s somewhere above.

Indelibly Incredible! TMGLTM but my favorite part was between "A madman in Zimbabwe" & "FADE", with extra bonus points for Heather Mills and Mike Moore! (sec. code = FUN (for real...!))

Hi everyone could you please tell me the reason why you all blame djibouti. and the fact that is a evil place . the poeme is wecked but i ve been in that state but nothing wrong with . so explain to me the problem thks
Kristof Robertson - June 04, 2008 - Report this comment
bfurd: I'm not really dissing Djibouti...I have no animosity towards that country. I chose it simply because it almost rhymes with "Boogie". I was just having a bit of absurd fun with the theme of blame....some people blame their parents, some people blame God, some people blame the government for all their woes. No-one, as far as I'm aware, has ever blamed an obscure African nation, because it's such a ridiculous concept. And, because I'm fond of ridiculousness, I thought I'd be the first. It's all tongue-in-cheek, and not intended to cause offence in any way. Peace
