The Lyrics

This one's for Ash. And anyone else who's ever suffered through a snowy snowy Halloween. But mostly...it's for Ash.
“It’s Halloween, you gotta dress up now
You’ll have the cutest costume,” this my mom would vow
A little pixie on an autumn night
Would surely wow the neighbors trick or treating, right?

But it snowed every single freakin’ year
So my snow suit covered up my cute pixie rear
My ears got covered with muffs
M’hands got all lost in gloves

What’s Cinderella without her glass shoe?
“No Mom, you won’t convince me she wore moon boots, too!”
Can’t be a princess if my dress won’t show
None of those Disney stories have an Eskimo!

Had my crown hidden ‘neath a stocking cap
And my ballroom hair looked like eff-ing crap!
My ears got covered with muffs
M’hands got all lost in gloves

(do do-do-do)
Why did I bother to wear a costume at all?
(do do-do-do)
I put up so much effort, then covered up with a shawl!

(Instrumental)

Crazy!

I was WON-der Woman in wool socks
Looked more like a Bear when I was Goldilocks
My ballet dancer’s long underwear
Made sev’ral people laugh, and other people stare

Though I prayed, ev’ry year for warmer nights
Still the snow would fall and maximize my plight
My ears got covered with muffs
M’hands got all lost in gloves

So I cried ev’ry single Halloween
As I bundled up, with nothing TO be seen
My face all hidden in muffs
M’hands covered up with gloves

Brought me back to my childhood where it was either raining or snowing because I grew up in Ohio, but it was never warm. Loved this one Arwen sends me back.

I will never forget being so furious at my mom for making me wear my coat underneath my witch costume. I kept trying to tell her that witches didn't wear coats, but did she listen? Of course not! The fact that your ballroom hair looked like effing crap was one more thing that cemented our bond. I love this more than I can say!

OH MY GOSH! I just barely saw that you said that this is for me. ME?!? I feel so honored! Just like...beyond honored. I might actually cry!

Tracey Ullman - I remember her, and I remember this song too! I don't ever remember having a snowy Halloween here in the UK, but this song made we laugh all the way to the end. Great imagery; Cinderella in moon boots and WonderWoman in wool socks were my particular favourites. 555!

I agree that the Disney stories should definitely include an Eskimo. I had an Eskimo dolly with real rabbit fur coat & tied fur Cap; it was my favorite Toddler toy.

Ash...and Ash...and Ash...of COURSE this is for you. =) You were my total inspiration and I'm so glad you liked it. I love making you laugh! =)

Wendy...=) Thanks very much...glad you enjoyed it!

~HallowsEve~...I kept thinking that there really WAS one with an Eskimo. I kept re-thinking...afraid I was going to be called out. =) Thanks for stopping by!

My early years I totally enjoyed Halloween in Pacifica,CA where we often had a fog-shrouded one! That made it even more frightful/delightful ! Nothing will stop a Trick-Or-Treater . . . Nothing . . . Nada . . .

Ah, the joys of Halloween. I enjoy wearing costumes on that day and miss Halloween parades at school! That was also nice you wrote it for Ash! When I was at a Halloween party during my college years, I dressed up as a nun and my boyfriend (may he rest in peace) dressed up as a vampire! I also love candy for Halloween! Take some festive 5's, Arwen!

Well... Ice Age had eskimos in it but it was Universal not Disney....

Here in Bruceland, we've got the usual forecast for Halloween: Chance of rain. Of course, in adjoining New York, Halloween is redundant. I was in The City last October 31, and I saw 4 Jokers, 3 Batmen, a Superman and a Catwoman. The Superman was riding a bicycle. Huh? Why does Superman need a bike? He can fly! And the Catwoman costume was really, really tight. Which wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't... a guy. I swear, I am not making this up. I'm not sure if I wanna spend the day in New York again or not. Maybe I'll dress as Zorro and look for an Elena (CZJ in the Banderas-as-Zorro films). Or maybe I'll wear old-age makeup: That'll attract a Cazejo! Or dress as Aragon? Am I on the right track now? I'm not shaving my head, because at my age I don't know how much would grow back, and I'd still have to lose about 40 pounds to look like Vin Diesel!

I think anyone who knows me knows that while I might be self depreciating from time to time...and while I might even say that I'm not funny...(which would be a joke...because come on...I'm hilarious)...I would NEVER use "right" when I should use "write." Also, I almost always capitalize in the proper places and use proper punctuation in contractions.

AND...for the record...everything I say isn't a joke. 97 percent maybe...but sometimes I'm serious. Like when I say it's TOTALLY LAME to post a comment under someone else's name...that's me being pretty serious. If you want to criticize me, do it under your own name. It will hold infinitely more water...and most likely won't get deleted. Which your comment will.

And...if you're reading this and can't figure out what I'm talking about...there once was a rogue comment up there, posted NOT by me...but attributed to me...laced with horrible grammar and elf-aimed insults. If you don't see it...it's been deleted. =)

I'm sorry...what?

Sometimes I think these random nonsense comments must be secrets codes that surely mean something to someone...but to me...they just mean I'm making my super confused face.
