This song is about the events that doomed Glen Mason's career as the University of Minnesota's football coach. Tim Brewster, his successor, is a MUCH better recruiter and accordingly deserves to stay, despite a 1-8 record in his first season as the U's coach (at the time of this writing) and no bowl coming this year.

You blew that lead and Texas Tech won!
Soon, "Fire Mason"s were even in Stephen,
So my Minnesota gave Mr. Mason the boot!
