The Lyrics

Playin'--what's that sound?
Here she comes, she's passing through town now
ACHOO! Drivin' up the avenue
"Why are you sneezing?
My boy, you are freezing!"

Don't you know she's coming over here
Dispensing treats left and right?
Ain'it it fun?
Grandma! Grandma! Grandma! Grandma!

Ain't nothin' like her drivin' machine
It's an Oldsmobile in a shade of green
Yahoo, drivin' down the avenue
Today we're gonna go to the Petting Zoo!

Don't you know she's coming over here
Dispensing treats left and right?
Ain'it it fun?
Grandma! Grandma! Grandma! Grandma!

(spoken) Yeah, she's gonna babysit me tonight!
I can barely eat any more food she's bringin' on!
I'll reach up..on top her lap...and read Dr. Seuss!

I want it! She'll buy it!
She's got me in her power now!
And I'm feelin'...with her dealin'
Dear old Grandma is gonna spoil me now!

Grandma! Grandma! Grandma! Grandma!

I´m surprised you put this one up. It really doesn´t fit the chorus. "Graa-aandma", "My Gran'ma" or "My grand Ma" would have been ok though.

I dunno, I thought it was pretty good. When we see the word "Grandma" we can sing it "Graa-aandma"; it really is no biggy.
Serafina - February 17, 2004 - Report this comment
How about "Grandmama"? That would work, if you ask me.

Good one. I also think "Grandmama" would have worked. Oh well, I voted 5's anyway.

Grandma does not scan to Panama, so I'll give you 111.

You disappoint, TSB. :(

I can tell this was a old one from you, because it didn't pace correctly you would have to say "Grand-a-ma" to get it right, and you also repeated the choruses which isn't really looked upon here on Amiright but it was still a pretty good idea, and I couldn't have written something like this back in 1984, because I would be negative 4 years old, heh, heh...

(Artistry) Ah, another classic from Agrimorfee's attic. Lovely sentiment, I'm sure grandma loved it. (And Matthias, "Negative 4 in '84" sounds like a great parody title.)

(Artistry) For how LONG AGO this was written, this was pretty good, Agri. Yeah, the title is a bit of a stretch, but we all know that by now. Some a little to well (glares at TSB, and counteracts his 111 with a 555)...

FWIW, I always sang the parody title as "Gra-aand-ma." I stand by that choice.
Invisible Boy - February 11, 2009 - Report this comment
I liked it , Agri. It's sort of The Little Old Lady From Pasadena meets The Lorax.
Here are 555 Thneeds for you.

(Art) Pretty funny friend, hope everything works itself out soon. 5s easily

Wow, this must be one of your earliest parodies, Aggy. I liked the "It's an Oldsmobile in a shade of green" line the best. Title line is a small stretch, but overall well done. PS: Sorry to hear about your work woes;I hope things turn around for you soon.
