On Friday, the Syrians downed a Turkish F-4 Phantom in the Med as a result of claimed Turkish intrusion into their territorial waters. An investigation is on-going and the Syrians were co-operating with the Turks on finding any survivors... but Erdogan is weighing his options for a military response which could be unilateral or bring NATO in. Turkey is already alllowing arms to be shipped along its 550 mile border with Syria and has expelled Ambassadors from Syria along with the US and EU nations. 32,000 Syrian refugees have also crossed over to Turkey for sanctuary from Assad's butchery. But the downing of the military jet now may be a turning point. Relations have soured with the Turk public calling for military action against the Syrian regime.
