I never thought that I would be writing a song about baseball, because as a European I don't know much about it, but with all the parodies here as of late I can't help picking up pieces of knowledge, and with this tune that I have been working with all week stuck in my head I decided to go for it.

Some win, some lose
And either way the viewer's gonna booze
Some cheer, some cry
They must have a reason why-ay-ay
We hear them talk about it much as they can
Is every American a baseball fan?

We guess it must have been a batting spree
With home runs, fast balls

I'm not really into sports, but I'm pretty sure that every other American is a baseball fan! I'll admit to getting into the World Series though...it's pretty exciting.

I don't follow sports very much either, but after the Red Sox clinched the pennant last week, it's been rather exciting. I do remember when they last played in the World Series, though; it was a bummer that they didn't win! Anyway, this parody was pretty good. :)

Not counting the three of you I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised that "...every big pen is here..." so far have missed the opportunity to discretely comment about their batting skills and bat size with smooth references to that line. ;-)

I, too, am happy about the Yankees getting creamed. Anyway, game 3 is tonight in St. Louis; the Red Sox are up two games to none. I'm rooting for the Sox, since they haven't won a World Series in 86 years. Anyway, great parody, k1chyd.

As an American parody, this would only be average (3), but I'm bumping you up a point for not having grown up with the game. By the way, that's "Whitey Ford" -- not "Fjord." And do yourself a favor and DON'T look up the name "Swede Risberg."
