The Lyrics

Warning: this parody isn't funny. Great OS, which is hard to find on the 'net.
[intro]

She found the wrong way.... with a bottle full of pills....
She died of an overdose
He told me..... that 'everything was fine'....
Read about his suicide

And I know..............................
(forever's just a myth but so)
How? Why?
(how? why?) was their time to go
And I know.................................
(Tomorrow is a gift of gold)
But I
(but I) Feel I'm growin' old

I walked down.... the cemetary gates....
Seeing all my friends in graves
I held up my head.... no tears were in my eyes....
But inside a part of me has died....

But I know..............................
(forever's just a myth but so)
How? Why?
(how? why?) was their time to go
And I know.................................
(Tomorrow is a gift of gold)
But I
(but I) Feel I'm growin' old

[solo]

Life's too short you see
Time's unsure you see (time unsure you see)
All alone in your company (uh...)
It comes down to me

I searched through my heart and racked my mind
How I was so blind
I know that I was part to blame
I've done my time........... tonight.......
You never would..... should know what I have known

'cause I know..............................
(forever's just a myth but so)
How? Why?
(how? why?) was their time to go
And I know.................................
(Tomorrow is a gift of gold)
Still I
(still I) Feel I'm growin' old

This song shouldn't be mistaken for the Pearl Jam song of the same name or Mad Season's "All Alone". Some sources credit Creed featuring Tool, but I doubt Scott Stapp can sing that good.

DKTOS so no vote, but even from the parody it looks very aliceinchainsy.
Adagio - May 02, 2006 - Report this comment
Very thought provoking.

While I don't know the OS, you've got 5s. I agree with Adagio.

DKTOS on any 'Alice in Chains' Songs, but this was a well-written piece and quite thought-provoking...reading it reminds me very much of Tori Amos's "Marianne", about a childhood friend who overdosed in her early teens...never determined if it was accidental or suicide...Good work...

DKTwholeOS, but it is well done555
P.S. Though Scott can't sing that good, he can still sing better than someone like me (mainly cause people whine when I try to sing ''arms wide open'' with a karaokee track, lol )

What album is the song from? Or is it one of those "unreleased demo" ones?

Thanks Alvin, Peter, Pat, Step-chan, Paul, Joel, Rick C, AFW, Scrawny Johnny, Stu, Carol and Larry. I'm more than impressed a dozen people took the time to comment on a serious and unfunny parody.

Joel: Are you sure Scott Stapp sings this? While lyrics sites did list this as 'Creed with Maynard from Tool' more than AiC/PJ, it sounds like Eddie Vedder and Jerry Cantrell (and maybe Layne too) singing. If Creed did do this, I take back half of the bad things I've said about them. ;-) I'm sure your karaoke of WAWO is fine.

Scrawny Johnny: This is an unreleased song, and is hella hard to find, even with file-sharing groups. Regardless of whoever did THIS version (a group called Downface did TOS), they didn't put it on any CD that I could find.
