Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This used to be my poetry assignment... but to make it better, I wrote the words to the tune of Once Upon a December! Please enjoy it <3
Singing birds
Joyful trees
Say goodbye to December
Peace and love come to see
Spring is here to remember.

Dreams are coming true to me
Plants come back to life to see
The bright blue sky comes to stay
Please, never fade away.

Sustained love
Friendship stays
Sunrise is here forever
Animals wake and say
Spring is here to remember.

Dreams are coming true to me
Plants come back to life to see
The bright blue sky comes to stay
Please, never fade away.

Joyful laughs
Hope is near
Light will stay and that's for sure
Painted smiles
Hopeful tears
Spring is here to remember.

Someone sings
Peacefully
Spring is here to remember.
You're welcome to use my lyrics, but please remember to credit me as Raphaella So!

(SOTM) This is a breath of fresh air amongst the poopy parodies and cuss words we have been inundated with this month. Interesting.

(SOTM) It does read more like a poem. Hope you at least got an A out of it.

We need something pretty and poetic like this to make up for all of the poopy and pathetic parodies that are coming out of the woodwork lately.

Poomaster, shut up. And quit polluting the comment threads with your sick comments. Especially on parodies that have nothing to do with toilet humour.

(SOTM) Not that this parody wasn't a good one, it just wasn't funny as it wasn't likely meant to be

The purpose obviously wasn't humor, but I take the position that a parody doesn't have to be funny to be good. That said, it was still funny because as anyone who grew up in the Midwest knows, spring doesn't quite work that way. You're more likely to go directly from winter to summer --- several times!

(SOTM) I don't mind it not being funny. It paced really well! Spring is more like winter here in Aussie! Great work for your first SOTM!

(SOTM) Wish I knew the original song, but this stands up pretty well as a free-read. Good rhymes, nice message.

(SOTM) It was ok but I found it slighty boring.

(SOTM) I only remember the OS vaguely considering I only saw the movie once, but you're off to a nice start on AmIRight here! Nice, peaceful parody...while here in the Midwest, we alternate between 90 and 30-degree weather. Wish it was more like you described!

SOTM- This was very nice and poetic, but not very funny. Then again, I guess they all don't have to be humorous. Good job.
wannabemustangjockey - May 30, 2007 - Report this comment
SOTM - Poetic? Yes. Funny? No. Not a bad poem but doesn't quite fit the usual description of a song parody. Eh, I'll let it slide.

(SOTM) As has been said already, Rafaella....this is a sweet bit of poetry; not LOL funny, but well written. 555

Pretty good

(SOTM) I don't really have anything new to say for this. It's a good piece of light poetry but not funny unless you find anything involving anastasia to be hilarious, which I don't think is a very common sentiment.
