The Lyrics

- Hi Barbie!
- Hi Ken!
- You wanna draw on a fake mustache?
- Sure, Ken!
- Jump in!
- Ha ha ha ha!

I'm a Sharpie girl in a Sharpie world
Writes on plastic, they're fantastic
Use them everywhere, fill in my husband's hair
No bare spots you'll find, a perfect hairline

I love Sharpie, makes me arty

I'm a Sharpie girl in a Sharpie world
Won't be hypoxic, they are non-toxic
Freckles where I choose, sketch on fake tattoos
I'll line my eyes now, etch on some eyebrows

For the mole, near my lip, I prefer the fine tip
Autographs, signing casts, it's my marker
Easter eggs, table legs, I can touch up my shoes
Telling you, you can't do, this with Parker

You can draw, you can play
But you can't rub it off today, oooh whoa

I'm a Sharpie girl in a Sharpie world
Sanford makes them, mommies hate them
Chisel tip or bold, there's even shiny gold
Imagination, it's my liberation

Not a Sharpie sniffing party, ha ha ha, yeah
Your head is fuzzy, kinda muzzy, oooh, oooh
Give it back, put on the cap, ha ha ha, yeah
Leave me alone, go buy your own, oooh, oooh

I can have me a ball, I deface Barbie dolls
Come jump in, grab a pen, do her makeup
Barbie's face we'll redo, can you hand me the blue
Whack off her hair, she's prepared, for her close-up

You can draw, you can write
You can say they'll work just fine
Underline, or highlight
You can say that they're all mine

Not a Sharpie sniffing party, ha ha ha, yeah
Your head is fuzzy, kinda muzzy, oooh, oooh
Give it back, put on the cap, ha ha ha, yeah
Leave me alone, go buy your own, oooh, oooh

I'm a Sharpie girl in Sharpie world
For pens of plastic, I'm enthusiastic
Drew spots on my cow, oh I'm light-headed now
Re-striped a zebra, a cause celebre*

I'm a Sharpie girl in a Sharpie world
Writes on elastic, it's fantastic
to mark my BVDs, and label my CDs
Though it is illegal, I colored a bald eagle

Not a Sharpie sniffing party, ha ha ha, yeah
Your head is fuzzy, kinda muzzy, oooh, oooh
Give it back, put on the cap, ha ha ha, yeah
Leave me alone, go buy your own, oooh, oooh

- Oh, I'm having so much fun!
- Well, Barbie, we're just getting started!
- Oh, I love my pen!

Arrrrggh, DKTOS, but oh I wish I did !! Jan, this is hilarious! Great rhyme humor, too..."Though it is illegal, I colored a bald eagle " etc, funny stuff!

P.S. Hey Jan - If you wrote another "Sharpie Girl" parody to the tune of "Georgie Girl", I would be able to vote on it !

Jan, same boat as Johnny D here, DKTOS. What era is the original from 'cause I just can't place it and I'm older than you by a few years.

You nerds! ; ) I can't believe that you don't know "Barbie Girl." It was everyone's guilty pleasure circa...just a guess...1997? Great job, Jan!

Thanks, everybody. I found some audio links to the song here: http://home.swipnet.se/~w-43925/Aqua/aquamusic.htm Is there any rule about sharing links to audio files?

Jan, Not at all, it's a very helpful thing for the reader's who either DKTOS or just can't remember exactly how the whole thing goes. I'm going to have to wait to get back to L.A. because my hosts up here have had some trouble recently when audio or video stuff has been downloaded and I sure don't want to bust their PC Hard Drive on my last night here (or any other day, for that matter). So I'll have to do a rain check on this song. I'm gonna jot a note in my "things to do" list...Warning! It's a pretty big list now so it might take me a while to get back to this. I'll probably be off-site for at least a few days after tomorrow morning, need to get a new PC and phone line at home to do the Internet. Keep the good stuff coming, Jan...

This is hilarious!! Since I have had at least one teenager in my house for the last twelve years I know this one well - lol! My eldest daughter made sure that my youngest daughter thought the original lyric was "AND dress me anywhere" - lol! Now that the youngest (l'il pooch) is in her teens she was slightly surprised to figure out that there was a slightly more risque meaning to that song - lol! Good parody!
