The Lyrics
Sprawling out in endless valleys
Housing millions of workers and their families
Streets, parks, and playgrounds stretch for miles
Kids with pets can be seen running wild
A mailman runs from a wild dog
Adults on the patio barbeque'n' hog
And two miles away near the industry
The tenament folk stare enviously!
Just a little tale from the streets of Suburbia
Blue-collars only see a fantasy like Narnia
Pink flamingo's rule the 'hood
The American Dream never looked so good
Hell hath no fury like that of
The streets of Suburbia!
Spire-topped 'scrapers now sit empty
Lying dormant in the middle of the city
Scrapped instead for a modern place
To suit the convienence of the modern face
Of men, and women, two-and-a-half kids
Who've forced downtown into withered grids
Who reap, don't sow, and trade work for fun
The lower class pays for their college funds!
Say a little prayer for the streets of Suburbia
Blue-collars only see a fantasy like Narnia
Pink flamingo's rule the 'hood
The American Dream never looked so good
Please take heed of these warnings of
The streets of Suburbia!
For kids, it's Ritalin, or they starve
SUV's and Mini-Van's can only take you so far!
Say a little prayer for the streets of Suburbia
Blue-collars only see a fantasy like Narnia
Pink flamingo's rule the 'hood
The American Dream never looked so good
Hell hath no fury like that of
The streets of Suburbia!
Please take heed of these warnings of
The streets of Suburbia!
