Parody Song Title:

"Czech Gun Boom!"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The Russians came up with sawed off rifles called Obrez which got copied in WW2 for use against the Nazis by partisans. Only they adapted the . Mauser K98 rifle. They cut-off the stock and sawed the barrel down, mating this to a MG-42 grip!!! I can't imagine firing this oddball. The flash would be blinding and the kick and climb from the 7.92x57mm long cartridge would break wrists and cause concussions!!! See below for pic...
Czech Gun Boom,
Type was crazy,
Mauser bolt mating to grip MG
Barrel cut-down,
Stock was cut loose,
Hand cannon couldn't be of much use...

Czech Gun Boom,
Improvised, see?
Idea came from the Red Army
Obrez nudge,
Partisan weapons were so crude,
Anyone using this was a fool!

Note: I have fired the IMI .50 DE with leather gloves. Two-handed for any kind of accuracy still had massive kick and climb. One-handed is just a waste. Takes about six shots to hit the same target at the same range and was more instinctive shooting than focased. Firing the Mauser shorty above I would assume would be even worse due to the component mutation and full power rifle cartridge. It'my understanding that Obrez Soviet versions were terrible. I assume the Czechs had the same basic problems...

Insane weapon for desperate user. Close range assassin, maybe. Follow-up shot impossible. Years ago, I saw part of a TV miniseries about Peter the Great. I think it was filmed in Russia. An assassin sneaked into the Czar's bedchamber. He was carrying a sawed off Mosin-Nagant, complete with magazine housing. The bolt had been removed and the stock had a Miquelet style flintlock grafted into the wood. Very strange. A preview for an up-coming episode showed Russian soldiers lying in wait for an approaching enemy. Some of them were clearly working the bolts of Mosin-Nagant rifles. Ever see "The Blue Max"? Filmed in Ireland. Both the German and British soldiers carried Lee-Enfields. Another gaffe I didn't know when I was younger, but the next time I saw it really stood out. At least the German's helmets were authentic-looking. The Irish Free State Army had been equipped in the 1930's with German WWI helmets made by Vickers on surrendered tooling. Years ago I shot a pistol made from plumbing pipe by a KCK experimenter. It was chambered for a .444 Marlin round with the bullet loaded backwards. By swapping barrels it could also shoot .44 Magnum or .30-30 Winchester. Strange.

Hey Patrick, I'm having trouble finding info on the Shkolnik pistol of the Warsaw Ghetto. Know anything about it?
Patrick - July 22, 2016 - Report this comment
I tried the Polish spelling "Szkolnik", still couldn't find anything. Did see a couple of interesting Sten knock-offs, built by the resistance forces, and a Chevrolet truck turned into an improvised tank.
Rob Arndt - July 22, 2016 - Report this comment
It's not a Polish Home Guard improvised weapon, but a Jewish improvised weapon; hence, the correct spelling I gave.

Will Rob and Patrick find the truth about the Shkolnik pistol? The tension is building. Stay tuned.

I must confess when I saw the title, the immediate song that came to mind was "Click, Click, Boom!" by Saliva. Imagine my disappointments when my eyes veered right and saw the Barney Song. lol

Brilliant, magnificent, a work of transcendent incandescence and fluorescence and luminescence, sheer genius, unparalleled, ironic, subtle, sensational, taut, gripping, incredibly witty parodic perfection. You are the Master ...no, the Messiah, and we are but your submissive flock!

How awesome of you to continue the years-long tradition of getting children's songs and making them adult-like. Also with taking pop songs and making them hilarious rather than unbearable. I Salute You.
