The Lyrics

If you've been in a show before, this song is DEFINITELY for you. Enjoy!
I auditioned, landed a real nice part
‘Twas Shakespeare, so I tore the lines apart
“If music be the food of love, play on,” oh crap!
My train of thought just took a nap

And that’s about the time the director yelled, “Cut!”
Then my fellow castmates snarled, “Now what?”
Then the director informs us that he’s
Blocked that scene for the fifth time
He’s obviously annoyed, but…
What’s my line again?
What’s my line again?

Then later on, he blocked Act Three
Viola’s still acting manly
And in the meantime I studied all of my lines
My focus started to decline

And that’s about the time I uttered the ‘M’ word
Nobody could believe what they just heard
Then the director had to calm us down
Because we made such a big fuss
Can’t save face because I must ask,
“What’s my line again?”
“What’s my line again?”

And that’s about the time he told us to take five
So he could at least go over Act Five
The show has started to take a nosedive
What the hell is wrong with me?
I can’t help but keep forgetting…
What’s my line again?
What’s my line again?

That’s about the time he threatened to throw me (Don’t kick me out)
Out of the production permanently (Please don’t kick me out)
We have less than a month before the show (Don’t kick me out)
Who would be my replacement?
I promise I won’t forget my…
What’s my line again?
What’s my line again?

What’s my line again?
I must confess: I've forgotten lines before. =\

I thought this was going to be about the old-time game show "What's My Line?" Mystery Guest, do you get a 5 for this parody? "Yes."

Thanks, Dave! I'm happy to hear you loved it. In the world of theatre, the 'M' word is a bad-luck term.
