The Lyrics

Mr. Tong, this is Michael M. Williams II. Please don't take this parody as a jab at you or your beliefs. I stand with you as far as that goes. But...Bush takes up so many of your posts- almost all of them, in fact. Surely, there are others we can tear down. There's gotta be someone out there more deserving of your talents than ol' Dubya. Let's not focus so much on the Shrub, huh? We'll vote him out in 2 years anyway. Why don't we start attacking Botox, or perhaps how the US won't let OJ escape the news or something? We could have a lot of fun!
Once upon a midnight dearie
I got a notion in my head
I couldn't escape the memory
Of the parodies and what Tong said
I'm a US citizen with freedom of speech
So his rights I won't deny
But when I saw all the posts of this gifted friend
I see his hatred and I wonder why?
I see his hatred and I wonder why?
Now, I don't like Bush either, so I don't mind
But stare at the sun and you'll go blind
Instead of hurling insults he might not hear
Why don't you and me just go have a beer?
And we can be, more friendly
And perhaps live a little more happily

Mr. Tong
Don't get caught up in the run-around
It's a sure-fire way to get steamed up
But all it does is bring you down

I don't wish to show ignorance
You've posted many things
And with five-hundred-thirty-four songs and counting
You can parody just about anything
And with everybody doing 'boy band' songs
Nobody thinks or expects too much
So use your civil rights and go ahead, Mr. Tong
And say 'Bush is a' such and such
Yeah, 'Bush is a' such and such
And he IS a 'such and such' so that's alright with me
But that's not everything that this site can be
There's plenty of others we can shoot down
So play with your talent, let's go and spread it around
Botox is fine, or 'O.J.- part 9'
Take a look at the times and let's see what we can find

Mr. Tong
Don't get caught up in the run-around
It's a sure-fire way to get steamed up
But all it does is bring you down

(harmonica solo)

Mr. Tong, my friend, this is Michael speaking
And I've got some news for you
It seems the dumbest man has control of the land
And there ain't a whole lot that we can do
But see we're both getting older, the wind's gettting colder, so
There isn't time for being cynical
'Cause I know no matter what Dubya does
The songlist will always be full
Yeah, the songlist will always be full

Oh I like satire
And parody
And Bush is just a dork, so you're fine with me
I still got this notion I just can't shake
That Shrub has had about as much as he can take
It's all right, it's okay
To be that way
But I have to say
There's more targets out today

Mr. Tong
Don't get caught up in the run-around
It's a sure-fire way to get steamed up
But all it does is bring you down

Mr. Tong
Don't get caught up in the run-around
It's a sure-fire way to get steamed up
But all it does is bring you down

Come on...we could do 100 songs on Prime Time TV lineups by themselves!
