The Lyrics
Hey, don't I know you, man, or is it just me?
I think we met when I was 'bout 16.
In 1st hour chem-i-stry. Messed with marshmallows and NO3.
But we're in college now, and that's just memories. But we still chance our dreams, but I still got that mark on my shoulder.
Remember silver nitrate day? I poured in on my skin for pay.
But we're older now, and I'm bolder.
It turned my skin a shade of black. The color never did turn back.
We're older now, and I'm bolder.
I think I know this girl, I don't know why I stare.
In high school gym she didn't even care,
when she broke my heart, the one that beat for her.
The wish I guess I'll take to the grave was to get a good chance to know her.
In 10th grade choir we had adjacent seats. And when she smiled she looked so sweet.
We're older now, and I'm bolder.
I wanted to tell her, but I lacked the guts. I loved her so, it made me nuts.
We're older now and I'm bolder.
Remember the party in our silver and blue,
we sat and talked about my awesome new shoes.
Those days are gone, and we're still all tough.
You look happy now, and I'm as glad to see you.
Well I look at the yearbook, and like what I see. In hindsight, they all joked about me, but at the time, it seemed my friends were my molder.
I miss them all now. But we're alright. I just saw Frankie the other night. And I cut my hair, and ditched the shades but I... heh...
I miss the times back in the gym. We jumped the cheer pit on a whim. We're older now, and I'm bolder.
When we payed Jay to eat his puke. And held a party for our lost friend, Luke.
We're older now, and I'm bolder.
