The Lyrics

I wrote this way back during the Bill Clinton impeachment hearings in the late '90s, before AmIRight.com came into existence, and had forgotten about it after I became aware of its parody section. The current real-life situation with the narrator of this parody gave me the opening to post this now Oldie as a reminder of what lengths this woman will go through to gain power and hold on to it. For those of you too young to remember the actual events, Kenneth Starr was the Independent Counsel appointed to investigate the perjury allegations which ultimately led to the Clinton Impeachment.
I hear impeachment whispered on the wind
It’s a sound that makes me cry.
You had Lewinsky go again and again,
Couldn’t stop, so you had to lie!
I wish I didn’t get my power from you,
But power’s why I wed and haven’t dumped you!
Trying to curb your parts while I’m hearing each lurid charge.
So many bimbos loved you, baby.
We must discredit Starr!

Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Telling the whole gullible world
That it’s a vast right-wing conspiracy!
Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Hoping it’ll all go away
Before you get indicted for perjury!

The public’s blind to you and cannot see.
They’re about to get new vision.
First Stephanopolous, then Betty Currie.
Each day brings a new revelation.
I want to reach out and choke you silly!
I should’ve had a clue when they called you Slick Willie!
Trying to curb your parts while I’m hearing each lurid charge.
I can’t love you that much baby,
I only love the pow’r!

Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Telling the whole gullible world
That it’s a vast right-wing conspiracy!
Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Hoping it’ll all go away
Before you get indicted for perjury!
Waiting... (Above the law!)
I don’t like waiting (I’m cov’ring for you)
It’s so hard waiting (And watching you score)
It seems like waiting (Waiting)
Makes me look like such a whore!

Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Telling the whole gullible world
That it’s a vast right-wing conspiracy!
Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Hoping it’ll all go away
Before you get indicted for perjury!
Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Telling the whole gullible world
That it’s a vast right-wing conspiracy!
Waiting for Ken Starr to fall,
Hoping it’ll all go away
Before you get indicted for perjury!
Ironically, the word "go" in the third line of the first verse replaces another (rhyming) word in Boy Meets Girl's original lyrics which, if left in, would have been a more accurate description of the historical facts, but also probably would have been considered too graphic and explicit for AmIRight.com's standards regarding adult content. Please consider that when scoring the pacing for this parody.
