The Lyrics

In case you haven't looked in the news section recently... Oops!... I did it Again! (that's a pain to write) Was originally recorded as a jazz song in 1932 by Louis Armstrong... This is about that record.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

I think I did it again
I ripped off a song, and gave no credit.
Or maybe
It's not quite a remake
Cuz I didn't keep the same genre-a
Cuz I rip off the music.
Of someone more talented than me
Oh baby, baby

Oops!I did it again
I ripped off a song, and took the credit
Oh baby, baby
Oops! You think I'm a jerk
That I make up my wo-o-ork
That's not the incident.

You see the problem is this
That vinyl is gone
In the garbage, no longer exists.
I find, in the garbage
A catchy single, L. Armstrong made thi-i-is.
But to turn a jazz song
Into something so amazingly poppy.
Baby, oh.

Oops!I did it again
I ripped off a song, and took the credit
Oh baby, baby
Oops! You think I'm a jerk
That I make up my wo-o-ork
That's not the incident.

Oops!I did it again
I ripped off a song, and took the credit
Oh baby, baby
Oops! You think I'm a jerk
That I make up my wo-o-ork
That's not the incident.

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

"Britney, you need a new hit single I found this laying in a box at a garage sale."
"Oh, It's Louis Armstrong, but I never heard of it, is it?"
"Yeah, it is catchy."
"But that means, this is perfect to remake and steal the credit of."
"well, Britney, that's why I went and found it for you."
"Oh, I'm so original."

Oops! I ripped off a song, took the credit
I did it again, oh baby.
Oops! You think I made the work
That's not the Incident.

Oops!I did it again
I ripped off a song, and took the credit
Oh baby, baby
Oops! You think I'm a jerk
That I make up my wo-o-ork
That's not the incident.

I always enjoy it when the decade is wrong on a parody! That's what makes it all the more worthwhile to read! So I shall honour your mistake of this 2000's parody with a perfect 5,5,5 vote!!

Poopie - I'm a big fan, but....are you, or have you ever been...aoid???
Dumb Ass Kid - April 29, 2005 - Report this comment
The problem with this is that you tried a bit too hard, and ended up making it exactly twice as long as it should have been(?!), I didn't find it hilarious and I can't give you any more than a '1' for pacing 122
Mr critic - April 29, 2005 - Report this comment
No, Stu, Poopie and Aoid have been rivals. Poopie was a pro-poop nazi, and Aoid was an anti-poop crusader. Poopie always praised poop-themed parodies, and Aoid always bashed them with his comments, usu. with good reason. But now it appears that both of them have acted as the "Decade Police."

thanks mr critic, and all the best to your wife ;-)

DKT VERY OS or Britney's cover, so no vote. Did the original version repeat like this and Britney's only done half of it? I know that " Scarborough Fair/Canticle " on The Graduate Soundtrack repeats twice ( identical lyrics ). If you want a vote then perhaps link a website that has TO lyrics. Sorry, don't have time to Google it ( besides, everything would probably come up as BS ).

I don't have this song, so I looked up the lyrics on the internet, and the chorus was repeated this many times, so i just followed that, I dunno if the song is that long, or if the makers of the lyrics website was wrong... but I appreciate the comments, even if they were really... mediocre.
Dominic L. - April 29, 2005 - Report this comment
Dunno if I already posted this, but I did accidentally paste the song twice, which is why it's so long.. and the original version is actually half as long as the Britney Spears version

DKTOS - good premise.

Poopie still is a pro-poop nazi; he's just not enabling comments on his parodies anymore.

Wow, I never thought I would have a comment convo on one of parodies, especially without me in it! oh well...
Your Worst Nightmare - May 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Wasn't the Louis Armstrong version a joke?
Dominic L. - May 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Might of been, but it's still a good topic to write about.
Grammar Police to Dominic L. - May 09, 2005 - Report this comment
You mean "might HAVE been"; I know we speakers tend to not emphasize certain words, but there's too much nonstandardness going around, and it's not even funny. You can say "might've been", but never use "of" in place of "have"; those are two different words with two totally different meanings. I'll see you in court.
Dominic L. - May 09, 2005 - Report this comment
Well, I didn't do a grammar check, especially since I just threw it together and put it on here immediately after.
Dominic L. - July 12, 2005 - Report this comment
Gah! Ok , yes I meant might have been
Stephen aka Step-chan - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
555. I didn't know the OS was L. Armstrongs, I've heard this song a few times. Did you have an accident with the copy and paste tools?
Dominic L. - July 28, 2005 - Report this comment
I have a feeling that the L. Armstrong thing was a joke, but to hear the (faked?) MP3, read the past news items, and yes, I accidentally pasted this twice... BIG mistake, because it cost me my pacing points.
Stephen aka Step-chan - August 17, 2005 - Report this comment
Except with me, since I just 555d it because I liked what you did.

britney suck and so dou you
Jackfaire - August 03, 2010 - Report this comment
I have heard the "original Louis Armstrong" cut and it sounds like the Britney Version except slowed down. Doesn't sound like Jazz at all and the person singing it sounds like they are doing a bad impersonation.
