The Lyrics

I'm a huge fan of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. In fact, I've been a fan of his since the beginning of the 2004 season. Since Junior will retire from driving at the end of this (2017) season, I thought to myself, "Why not write a parody encouraging him to win in his last race at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama? He has 6 wins there anyway." That's what this song is about - a fan encouraging Dale Jr. to win at Talladega one last time before he (Jr.) retires.
Oh, Junior, Junior
Oh, Junior, Junior
Oh, Junior, Junior
How was I supposed to know
That 2017 would be your last year?
Oh, Junior, Junior
You should've made the playoffs
And now you're 22nd in points, yeah
But now you have a shot at victory
At Talladega
You need to win one last race
That winlessness
Is killing me and I
I must confess
I still believe, still believe
When you're in the lead, I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Win at 'Dega one more time
Oh, Junior, Junior
I've always been a fan of you
Loyal to Junior Nation
Come on, Dale Jr.
I hate seeing you get screwed
Especially in your final season
But now you have a shot to win
At Talladega
'Cause you need to win now, oh, because
This winlessness is killing me
I'll be impressed when you take the lead (take the lead)
When that white flag drops, I'll lose my mind
Give me a sign
Win at 'Dega one more time
Win at Talladega
Win at Talladega
Go Junior!!!
Oh, Junior, Junior
How was I supposed to know?
That you've already made
Your last run at Pocono
I must confess
That your winlessness
Is killing me now
Don't you know I still believe
That you'll win on Sunday
And give me a sign?
At Talladega, one more time
Your winlessness
Is killing me and I must confess
I still believe (still believe)
That on Sunday, you'll be first to the line
Give me a sign
At Talladega, one more time
I must confess
That your winlessness
Is killing me now
Don't you know I still believe
That you'll win on Sunday
And give me a sign?
At Talladega, one more time

I love cars too, but your single topic routine is as tiresome as watching 500 laps. Write about something else, please.
